I’m head over heels

Just another post about how much c25k has transformed my life. I love running, and I love that I love running.

A few more recovery workouts before I get the all clear to start back on week 1 of the magic plan.

10K used to seem so far, but the gentleness of the running plan combined with my confidence of the 5K distance makes me feel it is tantalisingly achievable.

I was going to wait until I reached the 10K distance before treating myself to a new pair of running tights and a new top but perhaps that treat could come early?!

Well done, this sounds life changing. Treat yourself, there's nothing worse than having to take kit out of the wash basket because you forgot to load the machine 🤣 happy running 🤗

in reply to Grannyhugs

Thank you - I am glad I’m not the only one when it comes to the washing! 😳🤣

Definitely get some kit. It helps if you put the sweaty stuff straight in a short wash immediately after your run.

You don't need much detergent with sports synthetics, and a 20 min wash is more than enough for a wash of something freshly soiled. Drip dry in a warm place and they're dry in a few hours.

I can recommend stuff from Decathlon (they have branches in many countries), but that might not be brightly coloured enough for some of the ladies here.

in reply to nowster

Thank you, I will check out Decathlon. 😊

Sorry to read about your injury. I am so pleased you are up and running, literally. It is a great mental release.

We have to do everything to prevent injury though sometimes it's just an accident.

I think that will motivate me to do some strength and flex exercises on top of running. I didn't like running before, but love it now so in order to continue and improve I will have to bite the bullet and do those exercises - who knows I might get to enjoy those one day.

in reply to Rennur

Thank you Rennur 😊 I’m not so keen on the strength and flex exercises either but agree with you, if it’s the way to improve safely it must be worth it.

Yes go on - hours of fun browsing the internet options and you definitely deserve it. I just treated myself to some very expensive sweaty betty leggings and I absolutely love them. They have TWO pockets! One of them is a zip pocket in the back of the waistband and the other is a long pocket in the side of the leg which fits a mobile phone. I adore them! But if you are after something bright and snazzy you should check out Limberlou's posts - she has dragons and all sorts on hers and she gives the links in one of them. Can't remember where she gets them but they look fab and are half the price (at least) of the SB ones.

I’ve heard of Sweaty Betty, I’ll check them and Limberlou’s post out! Need something with a good strong high waistband to keep the tummy and love handles in check! Thank you 😊

The SB ones definitely do that - they are very 'supportive' .... 😉
