Sgt Major Garmin was not happy....πββοΈπ£ βmoveβ....βmoveβ....βmoveβ! And he really doesnβt like to be ignored π. But, I did do my 3 runs β . I was tired, but getting outdoors for a run this morning was perfect!!
I was planning to go through my gazillion notes today and tomorrow to download and digest, but after my run in the woods today, I decided that Iβll leave it until tomorrow π€. As I ran today, I thought about starting a new job being a bit like running and finding your way through the woods.
P.S if you see Sgt Garmin and heβs looking for me....tell him Iβll be back in a minute!! (Iβm going to put my feet up now! π€«... π π...π€£)

Thanks so much! π€ It is amazing to have a little time without having somewhere you need to go. The weekday runs are shorter so it works well!! πβ€οΈ
Just tell Sgt Garmin to (no swearing here) off, you run at your own comfortable pace, you are by the day getting further away from Land's End and nearer to John O Groats, onwards and upwards. π ππΎ
Oh well done! Those woods look gorgeous, and your job sounds like itβs going to keep you happy AND busy!
It must be strange joining an organisation during lockdown. Weβve had some new staff joining us and the biggest difficulties is creating that coffee machine / cafeteria moment of bumping into fellow staffers and consequently absorbing what your work community is about.
Happy running and Iβd try to keep Mr Garmin moderately happy. Not sure how he might react when you ignore his requests to be more active! π€£π€£
Thanks so much CBDB!! π€ Yes, it is strange. The whole process has been virtual and Iβve started working from home without seeing anyone in the flesh π€ͺ. All those virtual introductions create very full diaries!! Some adjustments will be made by me next week though, as I will need to get some work done. π Iβm going to add an end of work day walk on non-run days too! β€οΈ
Aah thanks Cheeky!! π€ I valued the morning runs as a time-out before starting another full on day of speaking to people!! π Set me up for the day!! πβ€οΈ
Hey Fab, I just checked and weβre literally just about a mile apart on LeJog4! Youβre on 259 and Iβm on 260! We should grab a bite to eat at the next services! π€£
Well done Fab450, it seems like your new job is keeping you busy!π³ Running is just the best antidote to sitting down at a computer all dayπββοΈπββοΈ I run in the morning before work whenever I can ππ
Iβve passed through Wales and Iβm back in England on LEJOG4, but I think Iβm a little way behind you nowπ Happy running!
Thanks so much too! π€ I have run in the morning too. Itβs perfect for feeling like youβve had an achievement no matter what happens after that!! πβ€οΈ
Sounds like your job is keeping you very busy Fabulous. Iβve whispered in Sgt Major Garminβs ear and requested he cut you some slack π.
Iβve just got back from my own woodland run. There really is nothing quite like it at this time of year π ππ.
Thanks so much Delly-dot!! π€ Yessss! You tell him! πββοΈ....π.
The woods are absolutely wonderful. I agree! πβ€οΈ
I really think there are parallels between running and life. Well done on getting through a tricky week and keeping running. It's easy to sacrifice but for our wellness it is so very important. Fab really is Fab!
Thanks so much GTFC!! π€ Iβm sticking with the plan! π¦Ύ I agree, itβs been a great week π, but Iβm making sure I keep a strong hold on my ME time πβ€οΈ!!
Thank you BTP!! π€π€ Iβm doing just that π!! Itβs been great though. I am very grateful to get such a brilliant job during these times. I think I just need to add a walk each day. I will be good for clearing the mind anyway. πβ€οΈ
So impressed by your commitment - full on new job and still fitting the runs in! You shall be my role model - and you can borrow my expertise in ignoring the Sarge. ππ
Totally - there is enough to stress about without adding to it. I am not going to allow running to become a source of stress. If I'm not feeling it then so be it. Although.....must try harder to get back on 3 runs a week π€£π€£π€£
Hey i missed this earlier, new jobs take a while to get used to, you will be great, and what a lovely place to run, Iβm glad to see you are getting running in, itβs not always easy around work
You can turn off move alerts on the watch. I have. It would bug me whilst I was doing desk work.
Congratulations on the new job. I started a new project at work at the start of September. Lots to absorb in a short time. I know what you're going through.
I could, but at the moment, weirdly maybeβΊοΈ, I quite like it...π₯΄! Itβs all the phone app notifications that do that for me and theyβre all off! π I look when I have the time and remember.
I actually think itβs a good reminder of how still I am during the day. It can feel like youβre rushing around, yet itβs only your brain thatβs getting the exercise! π
My daily steps have gone down, but my automatic daily step goal has adjusted too. It has just prompted me to add a walk somewhere in my day, even if itβs just a little one π. All part of making βmoveβ a bit of fun!! π€« ....Iβm not taking Sgt Major seriously! β€οΈ
