I seriously considered putting off my ‘long run’ till tomorrow and having a lie in instead but as I was awake anyway I decided to ‘get it out of the way’. And I’m so glad I did . This morning was sunny and clear but with a cool wind. The sea was crystal clear and our part of the Solent was quite busy with swimmers, canoeists, hovercraft, ferries and the Royal Navy (on a Sunday?!) so you have a picture of the recently recommissioned HMS Severn to look at, on her way into port. I didn’t really have a plan, I knew Dexy5 was planning 8k today so I thought I might do that too but I then wondered if 10k was do-able. And it was! And I enjoyed it! OK it was slow - but that’s me all over. It was 1:40:41 (gulp!) which was 2 min 8 secs faster than the first one I did in May, and nearly 10 minutes better than the one I did in August! Crikey! But I won’t be doing much else today apart from some emails and yesterday’s crossword - the ironing can probably wait! Have a lovely running Sunday folks!
So glad I didn’t just turn over this morning! - Bridge to 10K
So glad I didn’t just turn over this morning!
Love this! Well done you. Gosh, isn't it great looking back at your progress? A really good run. You earned the right today! 👏👏👏 don't forget a little 🍷with that crossword!
Fantastic! Haven’t really done much running since my 10k. Looks like you had a lovely time!
Well done OldGirl, I am sure you were out well before me this morning, so I ended up dodging all the little children on bikes and scooters on the promenade so returned via Ladies Mile which I had to myself. It was lovely in the sunshine though, despite that northerly wind. I told you you would get faster didn’t I? I managed my 8k nearly 3 minutes faster than last week, but I have to admit I was ready to stop when I reached the distance at the rose garden. These girls can. 🏃♀️🏃♀️☀️
Well done Dexy! It’s nice shaving minutes off here and there isn’t it?! I went out about 8.30, so not so early - but any earlier and it would have been hat, gloves and overcoat I think!
Congratulations on that 10K you ran this morning Oldgirlruns, you say that was your 3rd 10K, well done but why is the word GRADUATE10 not next to your username, after all this is B210K forum.
Thanks AM! I thought my graduate badge was there, I’ll have to check - I earned it!
Oh that’s so good to hear, the photo is lovely and it’s almost perfect running weather on the south coast, not too hot and not too cold
Sounds like a great run and with lots to take in on the water too. Well done on another 10k- super impressed!
Well done Oldgirlruns, that’s a great result for you! 🏃♀️👍 Sometimes the runs that we start out really not wanting to do turn out to be the best runs of all!🙂 It doesn’t matter how long it took, you did it and that’s all that matters!👏👏👏
Fab stuff! 10k 👏👏👏
Just brilliant!
You deserve a chilled day after that 💕
Well done OGR, isn’t it a great feeling when you go out with the intention of doing 8k and end up doing 10. Even better when you can honestly say I enjoyed it. 😊 Like you I felt exactly the same way when I went out for a run yesterday. Just wanted to keep on going and I did just that until I reached 10k too. Enjoy the rest of the day...the ironing can definitely wait !
Excellent OGR - great to get a PB on an 'unexpected' run!👏😀
Well done OGR, congratulations on getting an improved time, enjoy the feeling of knowing you are getting faster. Sounds like you have earned a celebratory drink
Excellent run, well done, hope you enjoyed the rest after. 😀
Great work and it looks like a gorgeous day for a run too!
Well done! Believe me ironing can always wait - think I last ironed in 1988. 😆
Well done! Slow and steady wins the race That's my story and I'm sticking to it...
Huzzah much better than a lay in and wonderful times 🤗
Woowee that's amazing 🤸♀️🥳💪 and a whole 10 minutes faster than in August! That calls for a celebration 🥂
Sounds a lovely run OGR. I also saw an RN ship on Sunday morning, and was a bit surprised to see it out on a Sunday, not sure whether it was the same one. I am guessing we would have been out a little later than you, it was probably 11 or 11:30 when we saw it. We had our son visiting for his seasonal exchange of road bikes so were route marched at pace to Old Portsmouth and back. Long legs and a lack of sensitivity to his mother’s decrepitude.
