Weather and eats

It was while Dexy5 and I were picking blackberries this morning that we realised we hadn’t arranged for anyone to write up our Southsea (not)Parkrun yesterday. It was a run of mixed fortunes weather wise. Dexy, Up The Stanley and I all took off in an Easterly direction along the seafront and got wet. Mr and Mrs Coddfish checked the clouds, headed West and stayed pretty dry! Ah well, I enjoyed my joffle in the drizzle, it made a pleasant change from the heat! Dexy sensibly listened to her leg and did a walk. No PBs or records to report, that I’m aware of though I was quite pleased with my 49:03 time and for the first time in ages felt I might even be able to improve on that soon! And I can report that breakfast in the beachside cafe afterwards was, as ever, very good!

That pic says it all Oldgirlruns sunny in the west and wet in the east. It was quite refreshing! But so funny to see the Mr & Mrs Coddfish looking dry while we were like drowned rats. I walked 5k including the walk home after breakfast, but haven’t entered a time on not parkrun.

Tomorrow it looks Line more rain!

I am glad you saw the funny side of being wet whilst we were smugly dry! Got very wet on Wednesday though.

As you say, OGR, no records, but I was happy to get back under my 25 minutes bogey time with a smidge to spare 👍

Ahh, I’d have preferred your route OGR! I’m designed to run wet! 🏃‍♀️💦 😅

Sounds like you all had a great time as ever! 🥰

As you know cheeky, my norm is strong wind! I’m still getting used to rain!

Love the moody pic OGR!

That's an excellent sign that you felt improvement could be there although keeping out there in all weathers like you all do will certainly get you there!

I could see the Spinnaker tower from Lepe beach on Tues evening so I waved in your general direction, though obviously you'd never have known that!! Very wet today so New Forest run #3 might have to wait...

A cheery wave is always nice to have Rowers, whether we see it or not!

Ooh enjoy your running in the New Forest Rowers. I just love those Forest paths. I hear it’s been pretty busy there.

It's a lovely place to run and straight out of the front door too. I went this morning anyway and got soaked. I'd heard it was very busy too but we've not had any problems. Maybe the less hot weather has helped...

I know that running is definitely not all about PBs of distance or time, but it does feel good to see or feel something to suggest that improvement may be on the way. Well done to you. 😊 Sounds like a lovely time was had by alll. 😊🏃🏻‍♀️🏃🏻‍♂️🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️🏃🏻‍♂️👏

What a great picture! Says it all. 😊👍 We we’re glad to be in the West yesterday - often the New Forest seems to be on the line. But breakfast makes up for a lot.

One day we will get that NF jog&picnic, but wet suits would be needed today. 🙄
