Hello lovely runners community,
Just hopped over from the C25k forum, as I think itβs about time.... whilst still keeping a foot π¦Ά over there, as well.
Just finished my fastest ever consolidation run (nothing to get excited about as still very slow π’ ), and the only thing I changed was the route! Instead of my winding, grassy knoll-fields-woods-hill run, this new route is a former rail line and thus very even. And wow, what a difference. I shaved off 1 min of my pace!
I am in the midst of my NHS 12 week fitness plan (see my timeline), replacing the C25k runs with consolidation runs. This forces me to do 23 consolidation runs before moving on to the next thing (JuJuβs Magic Plan?), and along the way am picking up all sorts of fitness habits (just completed Strength and Flex).
Have also signed up for a virtual end to end run #runlejog4, but am aiming to make it to the middle of the country, where I live! The route goes through my town!
As you can tell, I am enjoying myself. A big difference from just 2-3 years ago, where I had given up ever being fit again, had constant back issues, struggling with my thyroid and already seeing myself in the βend phase of my lifeβ.
Humbug, I say now! π I am just hoping this new habit of running sticks!
My new route:
