What are the best core exercises, suitable for long distance runs ( on alternate days to runs) of 10km plus ?

I have an exercise bike too..

I’ve become a yoga convert over the last four months.

Adrienne along with the rest of the world. So much for being nonconformist!

I’m on my 4th 30 day program.

Thanks for the link. I must be one of the few people who have never heard of her but this looks great and I will be trying it out over the next month.

Planks mainly for me... bridges are good... dead bugs... boat to low boat... crunches... there’s a lot to choose from.

Sounds technical...?

Not really... planking is my favourite, but can be a little boring when you get good at it. Boat and low boat are quite easy to get into, moving between them will really feel like you’re working that core more than the effort you seem to be putting in, so I like those. Dead bugs are good and very gentle. Crunches... well, they’re crunches... I’ll do them if I have to, so only when the PT is in the gym looking for a victim!

I'm guessing you follow / Google all of these ?

Lots of videos out there... I also use Nike Training Club... and for planks, well I just do that to a timer... low I can do 3 minutes and I’m convinced that I don’t have the will power to go longer purely because I’m bored... so I’m working on high planks now so I can watch TV 🤣

I’m also a yoga devotee and have been following Adrienne’s 30 day yoga calendars too during lockdown whilst I haven’t been able to get to my usually classes. You can find more info about Adriene and other exercises over on the Strength and Flex forum.

I also do Pilates classes each week (thank goodness for Zoom as my classes have kept going) and can highly recommend Pilates to add strength to your fitness regime.
