Poorly mouth 😭😭😭

Laid to bed over the weekend with what I thought might be an ear infection. Turned out to be a back tooth so I reluctantly went out for the 3k week 2 run on the magic plan early Monday morning. Booked an emergency dental appointment, root infection, tooth removed but didn’t go quite to plan (I’ll spare you the details) so I’ve not eaten or drank properly for days and I’m still in a lot of pain. Decided that I’m cancelling today’s run. Is it ok to move to the 6k run at the weekend if I manage to hydrate enough on Thursday/Friday missing the 5k run or am I best off just having a test run at the weekend and going back to week 2 on Monday ?

Good grief - what an ordeal! That sounded truly awful. Hope you're feeling OK now?

If I were you I'd keep going on the plan but not sure about missing a run.

I’m still in a lot of pain today. I can’t do longer runs during the week cos of work. It’s not so much the run, I could possibly do Fri and Sunday, it’s more the fact I haven’t been able to drink much.

Sorry to hear about your pain. I hope it’s not dry socket, which occurs after a tooth extraction. If you feel better you can do longer run. You can do the 3 runs in any order. Get better soon.

Thanks x I think I might rest until Saturday, try to drink plenty Thursday and Friday then see how far my legs take me on Saturday x I've researched dry socket (being the nerd I am) and I've got my eye on it. I think due to the extraction being a tricky one (hooked root on the tooth) there's more trauma on the extraction site hence more pain. Plus a tear at the corner of my mouth

That sounds horrific.

If I were you I'd do a very short slow run at the weekend and return to the plan on Monday if you feel you can. Be kind to yourself though.

Thanks x I guess it’s a case of wait and see

I'd suggest after the tooth problems you should treat yourself to some short slow runs, I know it's your mouth but your whole body will have been affected especially if you are not eating. Take care and happy running 🤗

Just look after yourself . Your runs will be there waiting when you are feeling better. 😊🤞🤞

Oooof nasty 🙊🙊

I’d say you’ve got runs in the bank, a couple of days off won’t hurt? Drink as much water as you can once you’re able, and try a recovery 20 min run at the weekend 🙂

Poor you, hope you recover from that ordeal quickly.

😾 Grumpy Katnap 😾

Go for the 6k. You've got it in your locker!

Hope you recover well. Stay hydrated and you'll do it confidently.
