Back out on the run today!! I’m doing The Move for Mind Challenge, as it’s Mental Health Awareness Week. The theme for this year is kindness!! I like that. 🤩
I knew it would probably be draining to run with the heat during the day and there was likely to be a lot more people out and about enjoying the sunny day ☀️. As I didn’t get up and out early, I was going to go for a workout session on YouTube.
But as the evening drew in, there was a lovely light breeze in the air. And...that was my inspiration to go on out for a little run. I wasn’t out for long, but it was perfect timing! You really can’t beat running outdoors. A nice little breeze and a quiet park 🌲 🌳.

Sounds like a perfect evening run, the breeze must have been very welcome!! I think kindness is more appropriate than ever at the moment, so many people facing so many challenges and it's so important to be kind, both to yourself and others. I will keep that in mind when I go for my run tomorrow evening 😊
I'll take running outside any day, hence running outside all winter. It is so therapeutic. I don't find the same feeling running inside. I am so glad you got out for a nice evening run. That will help move the mind, for sure!
Thanks Cheeky!! 🤗 I’m not an evening runner either 😂, but I thought I’d give it a try as it was still so light and cool. I really enjoyed it. Though, I noticed it was a little harder for me to wind down for bed. ❤️
Thanks so much BTP!! Yes, I definitely wasn’t inspired to go out during the hot hours!! I had sort of ruled it out for the day, so it was quite nice to get that urge later on! 😉❤️
I don’t usually run in the evening!! I’ve done it before, but because of following a plan and felt as though I’ve had to. I can go out carrying a tiny bit of tantrum about not being able to fit it in earlier too....it passes 😂. As I’m plan free and enjoy being rather unruly, I decided to go with the feeling yesterday! Off you go!! 🏃🏽♀️ Honestly, totally different experience!
Running when I feel like it really saves me from all kinds of frustration and I get out a lot more too! 😂 ❤️
Very freeing I’m sure. I’m trying to work up to a run that’s part of a group challenge organised by some of our Parkrunners. I’ve so far done a 1 hour challenge and two 5k runs but it’s all about being faster than last week 😲. It’s another 5k but I’ve seen the times logged by others and only one is anywhere near my time. Fastest I’ve seen just over 16 min! Why did I think this was a good plan?! They stress it’s about taking part but the ‘chat’ doesn’t feel like it. 😆 Comparison is the theft of joy as they say! Think I should withdraw gracefully from the group and go back to having fun!

Being in a group where there is overt or covert trying to be the best amongst the rest is something that you can feel. Thankfully, this is not one of them.
