I posted the other day about advice on possible running socks that maybe keep your feet cooler . So got the socks Β£12.99 , never paid that for a pair of socks in my life . Now for a while I've wanted new trainers in a neon colour and I got them . Done a few measurements and got a half size bigger they're perfect.

Have a great weekend everyone πŸ˜ŠπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Great on the new socks and shoes. I hope you have a lovely cool run. Amazing how much some socks cost. My walking socks and ski socks are about Β£20 a pair but they do the job perfectly and last years. Happy running πŸ€—

I am sure they will be very comfortable to run in, they look really nice, I am just back from my 8th virtual parkrun. 😊 πŸƒπŸΎ

Love the colour!!

Enjoy your runs with new socks and trainers. You've certainly earned them.

I will just tell people you said I'd earned them . My excuse for buying🀣🀣

in reply to Buddy34

Definitely! Every now and then we deserve something like this for all those runs in all those conditions. Hope you are wearing them around the house too first!!

Buddy34 profile image
Buddy34Graduate10 in reply to

Yes I will wear them about the house today and tomorrow and try them on Monday. Long run day tomorrow so will just wear the ones I have 😊

Pretty ! Enjoy your run. Aldi sometimes do running socks which are good but feet still sweat a bit.

Buddy34 profile image
Buddy34Graduate10 in reply to Womangolfer

I think our feet will sweat no matter what, I just thought I'd try new socks to see if there is any difference . Now just need to sort out the sweaty body🀣

Are you feeling better today 😊

Glad you've treated yourself to something you've been hankering after! I too am on the lookout for socks. I'll be getting some new trainers too as soon as I can get to a shop where I can get a gait analysis. I'll be buying a half size (at least) larger. I have square feet so my third toe is needing some more running space 😳 Enjoy your new trainers and I hope your socks live up to their reputation!

Buddy34 profile image

I was also after gait analysis after getting gift vouchers for my nearest running store in Glasgow. But they are all closed so I chose these online just now 😊

Just glancing at this thread and spotted the great sock debate 😊

I bought some Balega running socks from Amazon recently. I rate them very highly - I bought some years ago and they’ve finally given up the ghost after years of gym and frequent washing - they were recommended by our local running shop and I’ve never regretted the extra pounds (about 12-13 squids)

Highly recommend!!!

Aaah Amazon! The only way to shop nowadays....I'll take a look and perhaps treat myself - because I'm worth it 🀣 well my feet are. Thank you!

Looking good!

Did you buy Hillys socks? If so, are they worth the money? I have some in my basket on Amazon - haven't pressed 'buy' yet. They're so expensive. πŸ™ˆ

Buddy34 profile image
Buddy34Graduate10 in reply to Speedy60

I bought Balega socks and yes they're better quality than the ones I have the now. 😊

Speedy60 profile image
Speedy60Graduate10 in reply to Buddy34

I think I'm gonna go for it. I've got two cancelled holiday's worth of money to spend. πŸ˜‰πŸ˜†

Buddy34 profile image

One of the reasons I went ahead and got new trainers when I really didn't need them just now as like you say we were supposed to go away on the 6th July 😊

Speedy60 profile image
Speedy60Graduate10 in reply to Buddy34

A big birthday for me next month. The whole family had a villa booked in France. We've rebooked for the same week next year. Sixty one is where it's at.πŸ˜‰

Buddy34 profile image

Aww that's a shame , extra special celebration next year then πŸ₯³

Speedy60 profile image
Speedy60Graduate10 in reply to Buddy34

Yeah, great year for lockdown. One wedding gone, my mum's 90th birthday this week, my 60th and our 40th wedding anniversary. πŸ™„

I'm not complaining, as long as we're all still here to celebrate next year. 🀞

Buddy34 profile image
Buddy34Graduate10 in reply to Speedy60

Yes exactly , I would have been away and celebrating my 1st wedding anniversary had we been going in July😊

59er profile image
59erGraduate10 in reply to Speedy60

Haha as well as the postponed wedding we have in common it is our 40th wedding anniversary in June too! Plans for a trip to Biarritz also down the Swanee but like you say as long as we're all fit and well, that's good enough.

I use the Hillys Twin Skins. Find them very comfortable, no blisters and keep my feet from getting too sweaty.

Love the new trainers πŸ‘ŸπŸ‘

I never thought I’d pay so much for a pair of socks either, but those Balega socks are great I think and worth the money.

Happy running πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸ‘

The way I look at it now I used to spend £70 a week on cigarettes gave up 7 years ago so nice to spend money on something worthwhile 😊

MartinKH profile image
MartinKHGraduate10 in reply to Buddy34

That’s a great way to look at it , use the money for better things.

I’ve been off the ciggies 7 years too, and feel so much better for it.

Buddy34 profile image

I honestly don't think I'd be able to run if I hadn't given up😊

How's your socks and which ones did you get?

I've started treating myself to a new piece of running gear every month, this month I bought Under Armour compression shorts and have decided I'm not quite ready for those just yet!

Buddy34 profile image
Buddy34Graduate10 in reply to Rigpig

The socks really do work and my feet weren't as sweaty or hot. I bought Balega ones. What you waiting for get out in your shorts I did it 2 weeks ago it feels so different 😊😊

Rigpig profile image
Rigpig in reply to Buddy34

Oh yes, I wear shorts all the time but I bought compression shorts online, was not aware of how much they hug all the contours :-)
