So I booked a 10 in November, in haste, no madness, when I was on week 6/7 off c25k. I got injured med Jan, as previously posted, due to becoming addicted! And therefore not listening. I am working my way back and am now on week 2 of the ju ju, which I fully intend to follow ( so far so good 😊) however I have a booked 10 k in Hyde park on Sunday , and I’ve decided to go, run 6-7 k, then walk / run the rest . Does this sound ok people ??? I had mentally abandoned it, but a friend at park run, who walk / runs marathons , said go !!!! And just walk / run it .... you’ve paid the money ! What do others think? I am coping fine on the ju ju , precious injury settled ( hip strain, think I was trying to get faster, too quickly)
Here’s hoping 🤞 : So I booked a 10 in... - Bridge to 10K
Here’s hoping 🤞
🤔 can you be disciplined enough to stop running and walk some? That's the hard part; especially in the buzz of the atmosphere, the possibility of setting off too quickly to start is there, plus the potential of pals cajoling...
If you can be disciplined and walk from 7k or 8k... yea, why not. 👍🏻
Jojo is of course right - be very disciplined. You really dont want to be on the IC again. There will be plenty of future opportunities to run that 10k in the future. Here's hoping storm Denis doesn't hit as you are trying to complete the course. Take care
Thank you so much , wise words xx
You could walk the first two or three k? It might be easier than stopping later, and you could pick off a few stragglers as you come in to the finish....
Just had an email ..... event rescheduled to 29 th March ..... perfect 👌🏻 💛
I did a 10K after graduating C25K, and followed the Jeffing method. Even with the walking you can still have a decent time.
