Tourist at Katnap’s 50th parkrun!

Mr Sandie has gone skiing, leaving me and the dog to our own devices for a week. As it was Katnap ’s 50th parkrun and Stratford-upon-Avon’s 200th run, I set the alarm for 5.45am (imitating cheekychipmunks ), chucked the dog in the boot and set off on the 100 mile drive to Stratford. It was a beautiful sunny morning but -1c when I arrived. Met up with the Kats and their kittens and Shake-and-run was volunteering as she is still not very well. It was a slow start due to the sheer number of runners and I could feel my feet slipping all the way round on the frozen ground, but my Strava time was still 30:40 and my final sprint was 4:36 per km 😳😳😳. Official time still to come, but, for the conditions, I’m very happy with my time. Coffee and pastries at the Pantry afterwards and then I’ll head back home after lunch with Shake-and-run. I am so glad it wasn’t cancelled and hope those of you who were, managed to get a run in.

Well done Sandie, especially after that early start.

Well done for your cheeky style commute Sandie. A brilliant time in icy conditions, and what a fantastic last km time. .

So many parkruns are cancelled due to floods, mud and ice that a long drive can be a bit risky.

I hope Ben got to join you for a nice walk after

I look forward to Katnap ’s celebration post. 👏👏👕

Haha, I wish it had been the last km Dexy. It was actually the final 100m sprint! Still fast for me though. After a quick lunch, we took the dogs for a 7k walk along Stratford Greenway. I only have 3k left to complete my Strava 50k in 30 days walking challenge 👏👏 A lovely day!

What an ARB you are Sandie! No distance too great. Brilliant time in the circumstances.

I don’t do ice I am afraid; one fractured vertebra is enough for one lifetime! Will be ok for long slow runs in the woods though. It will just harden the mud.

I don’t blame you, but having driven that far, I wasn’t going to wimp out. I thought I had reined back a bit, but the time seems to belie that theory!

Yay, well done for going Sandie. I’m just waiting for my lift to the choir workshop. I’m still recovering from the FOMO of not joining you all, it sounded lovely! 😍

Eastville cancelled today too, to add insult to injury, but I did 6.5k with Flossie elsewhere to make up for it.

I’m glad you had a lovely meetup. It’s a lovely PR isn’t it? 😀

At least you managed to get a run. Yes, Stratford is lovely - muddy last time, icy this time. Maybe we should do it in summer! And the dogs got a 7k afternoon walk as well 😃

Thanks Lexi. Worn specially, as my Xmas pressie from Shake-and-run . Campervans, which is very appropriate!

Thanks for your support Sandie! An excellent time in the conditions

And thanks for looking after Tailchaser while I disappeared off to my pre-C25K meeting.

Really no hardship looking after Tailchaser in a cafe Katnap 😂

It was great to see you and Shakes Sandie! Hope Shakes gets better very soon. It was a lovely day to go down The Greenway - the town centre was really busy so that was definitely a better place to go. All the best with the HM training x

Wow, you are super speedy! And just love the leggings. As another campervan fan I might have to get some!
