25:90 - not a good ratio!

Another Saturday, another Parkrun, another cold wet run.

Took it nice and slow today, chatting to my friend most of the way around (I don't know that he appreciated that, but hey ho)

It was very wet, not only because of the rain coming down, but because of the river running over and creating quite a number of 'river crossings'. Needless to say by the time I got home I was freezing.

A hot shower, and a hot tea, warm clothes and hugging the radiator still took a good 90minutes to warm up.

25minutes of getting cold, 90minutes of getting warm. That is not my idea of a good ratio.

Oh, and as you can see from the pic, despite my very gentle pace, my mate was still behind me at the finish line. I don't think he's taking this competition seriously!🤣

😂😂. It may have been a wet and rainy parkrun but I bet you still loved it. Hope you're all cosy now. 🤗🤗

Wow, sounds like an adventurous run with all the river crossings! Well done.

Yeah, felt more like a steeple chase than a Parkrun.

I'm actually getting quite into this running now. Speaking to a few guys this morning at Parkrun, and talking with Mrs N this afternoon, I'm starting to look at what running clubs are near.

Tokyo 2020 here I come 🤣🤣

We’ll cheer you all the way. Can you dedicate a run to me this week I’m having a bit of a break from running 😉

Not because of injury I hope?

Let me know how far you want to run and I'll try my best to do it for you.

No selling house so mega hours knocking garden into shape. Burned 1000calories by 1030 this morning, 658 min recorded on garmin for week of which over over 300 were vigorous. I’ll take any distance thank you 😀

Haha... We won't be moving house anytime soon because I haven't got the time to turn our jungle into a garden. I'm not saying it's overgrown, but I spotted an Amazon Tribe setting up camp in there the other week. 🤣

Always frustrating when life gets in the way of things, but I'm sure you're new house will be a huge reward making up for it.

Are you moving far? Do you get a new running ground to explore?

150 miles to mummytobe’s village. Great running and new running buddies but son-in-law does 1k in just over 4mins so he won’t be one of them. Sure your kids love having amazonians in their garden. Must head back to the garden before darkness descends. Happy running

Not a bad idea. Although I think I might get a few funny looks.

What a wet parkrun. Well done. My feet got wet today too, but at least it cleaned my shoes

yeah, I try to time my steps in order to stride across them, but a few times i miss judged it, and once my feet were wet, I just went straight through them.

A 25 minute wet and challenging Park Run which you took nice and slow...25 minutes is your nice and slow!!! I should hate you 😂😆🤣

Glad you managed to warm up eventually 👍

Haha, it was 25minutes and 30seconds if that makes you feel any better?

We're all different. My challenge is less about my physical ability, and more about my mental ability. Before I started C25K I couldn't run more than 10meters before I got bored and just ended up walking. It was a serious fight of discipline to get to the point where I'm now running 3 times a week. What's even more impressive, is that I'm actually starting to enjoy it and look at running clubs and races.

Lol, that 30 seconds makes all the difference 😉

I guess it's not such a bad thing then that I generally find my runs challenging enough to stop me being bored, and then there's the enjoyment of just being outside in the fresh air!

Glad you're starting to enjoy it, so much more fun if you like what you're doing 👍
