Out early Monday Am taking Dexy5 ‘s gentle reminder and ran a slow and steady 10K, however the competitor in me did kick in and I had to press on a little bit to complete 6.5 miles my longest run.

Wednesday necessitated a quick 5K as I had other fish to fry immediately after and managed a sub 30 min and my fastest on this particular course by a few seconds.

Today on duty at 8AM in my 1958 Replica Plymouth Argyle shirt a birthday present from my grandkids to mark my 60th last year, as it was a football shirt theme this morning to mark the start of the football season. to help set up part of our Park Run course a difficult task in strong winds as cones refused to stay in place and

quite a bit of tree debris to be cleared from the course

That and the fact that a Running Club was doing a recruitment drive meant we started off a little late. I felt really good and Run Keepers 5 and 10 min update told me my pace was good. I had failed to stay with both the 29 and 30 min pacers but was happy with my own pace. On the last section however the 30min pacer suddenly loomed into sight. My own calculations told me he was nearer 31 than 30 pace but I enquired of him whether he thought he was on schedule, he thought he was. I decided to push on ahead and started my sprint finish a long way out. Got home in 30. 08, a Park Run PB and considering I have said that I felt a sub 30 on that course was impossible for me, I was over the moon with that. So another good week’s running and yes on Tuesday it was be a slow and steady 1OK or thereabouts Run again.

That is absolutely brilliant Chris; you’ve had a really good week. An almost 30 minute 5k is excellent and something that you’ll be breaking soon I’m sure. ( sub 31 is still a target for me).

Not only that but Plymouth won at football today too. It must have been your shirt that did it. 🏃‍♂️👏🏻👏🏻

Ohhh I have done several sub 30’s 29.06 my PB but not got near that since. Today was my Park Run PB. My shirt definately helped both me and Argyle! LOL.

Great stuff Chris!
