Are you parkrunning today? Should be a nice and cool one (maybe a bit wet). Good luck everyone!

Parkrun 27/07
More volunteering for me - should be less muddy than running today! Go carefully π
Hey Linda! Good morning, where are you volunteering? Xx
Black park this week. They're short of help over the summer holiday period π
Volunteering too π
Just getting ready for the parkrun in Tredegar House in Newport. Wearing my posh parkrun running vest for the first time
I did! πββοΈ
I picked Burnham on Sea today instead of my usual hilly Eastville or Ashton Court routes. Burnham has an elevation of 2m, which seemed more appealing that the hills after this hot week. π₯΅
Lots of fun, massive turnout, but it was still mighty warm. Iβve worked out I donβt find flat courses that much easier - strange isnβt it? Maybe itβs the lack of downhills! π€
Very wet Parkrun at Bedgebury Pinetum this morning. So glad it wasn't a scorcher after the heatwave we've been having! But it was so rainy that I left my phone in the car as I was worried it would get too wet. It felt weird running "naked" with no tech to tell me how many kms I had done or how long it took. Weird and quite liberating! Just waiting for the results now, don't think it will be a PB for me due to having to slow down and pick my way through a few muddy bits. βΊ
Iβm not sure I would be able to run naked! I like the idea but Iβm too addicted to my stats right now x maybe the day I run naked will be the day I let go!
I got all set for park run today with only very light rain when I left the house which soon went off, however, when I got off the bus where the park run is the rain was lashing down, I only had a T-shirt, shorts and my running shoes on, I would have been drenched before I even got to the start and sadly just got the first bus home, better luck for me next Saturday.
parkrun.org.uk/cancellations/ AlMorr check the cancellations for next Saturday, pretty sure your local one is on the list...
Thanks for that information Debston, I think there is a event in that park next Saturday.
PS. There is no parkrun again for me next week because of a event in the park, to make up time for not running a parkrun for four weeks, from the 10th of August I will run a parkrun every Saturday for a few weeks instead of once a fortnight. π π . π π
Oh no bad luck AlMorr, Iβm sorry
A park run is for life.... ? I am quite glad I love lone running
I have cycled most of my life alone, not all the runs alone, so as far as running, it's the same, nevertheless I enjoyed my first parkrun two weeks ago and am a little disappointed that there is a four week gap due to me not going last Saturday, today because of the rain and next Saturday because of a event in the park, never mind, I will make that up a bit by going for three weeks in a row from 10th August instead of every second Saturday.
Iβve only gone and done it again My official time today is 31:40 position 80 a new PB π YAY πππ»ββοΈhow did your run go JaoJao hope it was a good one x
Thank you Debston Iβm happy with that π and well done to you too it doesnβt matter if itβs slower itβs the taking part that counts well done πx
I havenβt received my official result today by text or email, but I was very close to my PB, 35:something!
Next few weeks going to be spent trying to hold the 35 mins finish comfortably. I was quite a βloud breatherβ today, think agonal breathing! I was embarrassed of myself ππ.
Ooh, so it might be another pb, maybe! Fingers crossed π€ Funny you say that about the breathing, mine is normally all over the place (and far too loud) but I have just realised that today I didn't have to think about it at all. So maybe that's progress! Or maybe I've just got used to sounding like a wheezing Darth Vader... π
