Hurt myself in post run stretches!

So cross with myself. I’m following JuJu magic plan. On Monday I did my 4K and then tried the heel drop stretches. Clearly I did something wrong because since yesterday afternoon I have this pain on the front of my thigh (no clue what that muscle is called 😆). Have put an ice park on it .

So annoying as my plan is to attempt the 8k run today. Apart from that pain at the front everything else is fine so I will go out and see how I get on.

First injury since starting and it’s not even a running one 😆

Not sure how heel drops would injure your quads (front of thigh)

I’d say you’ve strained your quad another way. You’re going the right thing icing it. Rest it for a few days and hopefully it’ll feel better.

Thanks. I think I pushed too hard when dropping.

Ooh, sorry to hear that!! Seems odd - maybe the bent-knee pose put some pressure on your quadriceps (the muscles on the front of the thigh). It could be related to hip problems though.

Take it easy on your run today, and have a break from strength work xxx
