How many Parkrun fans have this? Maybe you did not know about it. Your register with you Parkrun ID and your Parkrun history, PBs and volunteering is available at your fingertips.
You can also add friends and many we can follow each other? People only need to share first name, last name (it’s not the best search facility) but one person has been able to find me.
With your support and advice JaoJao I downloaded the Parkrun app, at the moment it's just blank, however, after my first parkrun this Saturday it should show the time I ran it.

I notice from the Android Playstore there are several 5K parkrun apps, I installed
"5K Parkrun results" using my barcode number, it came up only with my name, the rest is blank, not ran a parkrun yet, however, there are several others,
'Park runner weekly 5K results'
'My 5K run results'
I have not installed the other two, just wondering if the others are better or should I just keep to the one that I have installed?

It’s not that mature as a mobile app, it needs some work but it may give us what we need to support each other’s journey. It’s also quite nice to have a friends list.

Thanks - was a bit cooler last Saturday so didn't have to slow to a walk. Certainly feel that I can go quicker in a group compared to when I run alone
Is this the one called Virtual Volunteer? There seems to be three or four Parkrun type apps in the play store... I still need to delete some things before I can download any of them!
It’s a green mobile app icon and the user interface is green too. It is not the virtual volunteer
I have downloaded one called Parkrunner, thinking that was the right one but the interface does not look like your picture and I can't see any way to search for other people. Are you on an iPhone? Maybe it's not available for my android phone.
I can't find an official park run app for Android? I downloaded one called 5k parkrunner results. It came up with my details straight away.

Ooh, I was hoping there was a general Parkrun app JJ, I’ll check it out, thanks! I guess it’s new? When I’ve looked in the past I’ve only come up with the one they use for timekeeping and scanning. I’ve got the Google add on that shows all your runs, volunteers, niches etc but I can only see that on eldest kitten’s computer and I always forget to check it.
I checked it out earlier. This app was launched in 2015.
Yep, I just checked it out and I’ve seen it before. I think I discounted it before because of the reviews and it’s lack of potential use.

Thanks JJ, I don’t think I’m going to download it after all, sorry ,😕. I want an app that does the Google tool thing. You have to load it into Google Chrome or FireFox at the moment and I keep hoping there’s an app or Safari or Explorer version of it but no joy yet. Anyhows... you can find it in the Chrome store if you search for ‘Running Challenges’ or running-challenges.co.uk/ They talk about it quite a lot on the Free Weekly Timed podcast and it is really, really good.

Hey JaoJao, this is the iOS app right? Just to warn you, it crashes every time a new parkrun event is added as it’s not really supported anymore. Only way around that then is to uninstall the app, then reinstall it. I still do this as I find the app useful, but it’s very irritating. Have your parkrun ID number handy as it means you have to log back in each time!
Anyone else want to connect? The app seems more stable since I re-installed it.
