Firstly, to get the not-so-positive out of the way, parkrun didn’t happen on Saturday for these legs. It was really hot already by 8am (past 20C and humid). I was also just getting over a tummy upset from last week, and the energy levels have been shockingly low because my food intake has been minimal.

The good news is that I did a run today back in Windsor Great Park, and managed to reach the full distance of the charity run coming up next week. I followed the same strategy I plan to use, running the first 2km, walking 1km, then running the rest.

They may need a calendar to record my time, but I made it. I felt pretty good by the end. It’s the furthest total distance I have achieved, beating 5km, and the furthest total running, although split into two.

One more practice run left on Tuesday.

Good to hear from you Charlie, you enjoyed your run today and that is the main thing, don't bother about the time regarding the calendar, good plan, 2k run, 1k walk and another 2k run at the end.

Before I officially started C25K now over a year ago I tested my running by short run/walking over a measured officially recognised 5K course used for one of those Santa 5K runs near Christmas, I ran/walked it in March 2018, about a month before I began C25K, on that walk/ run I timed myself as doing it in 40 minutes, I then realised that I could do the C25K course, I officially began run 1 of C25K on 18th April 2018 and graduated 2 months later on June 18. On 10 October 2018 I ran my quickest 5K on that same course as I had that test run 7 months before in 32.25.

I ran on Saturday but it was at 7am and that was already my absolute heat tolerance level, it was definitely too hot later than that! Hooray for getting your run done yesterday instead :)
