It says in this article running fast takes more recovery time, so if you are trying to increase distance AND pace you might hit a tired, 'heavy legs' period. Try really slow runs or extra recovery days.

Yes ! I,ll second that one . After my first 'timed' 5K on Wednesday during which I pushed myself for the first time since starting C25K back in December, I felt a little heavy today. Calves are still a little sore too but a good massaging will sort out those bad boys !! With a slow jog of a 10K this coming sunday I plan to just enjoy the time out there alongside the beautiful creation we are blessed with in our locality, just concentrating on good form of movement ,running upright and from the hips, with a smile on my face .Im buzzing already !!

Ps watched, 'Running brave', the movie of Billy Mills 10K Olympic champion 1964 , inspirational !! A must watch movie !! (Its on Youtube !!)

Thanks for that Baddie. I do enjoy the occasional long slow plod and it is always amazing how quickly the recovery seems after these types of runs
