Seems a good day for First 10k's

Hi All,

I managed to complete mine today as well see stats from runkeeper below. I did have an attack of cramp in the left calf at 6k though so had to steady the pace to keep going i thought i was going to have to stop but somehow i kept going. It was my first run with those amazing aftershokz head phones and i think a combination of Nick Cave down on Jubilee Street and sheer bloodymindness got me through. Now i need to recover.

I would probably get arrested for my current re hydration technique which seems to consist of some large Gin and Tonics and nutrition isn't a strong point ether something i need to address i know.

I don't post much but i read everyone's positive and useful messages so thank you everyone for the inspiration.

Onward to 21k. Happy Running.

Distance 10.01 Time 1hr 10 mins Elevation Climb 136m Av Speed 7.04

Well done πŸ‘πŸ» πŸŽ‰πŸ‘πŸ»πŸŽ‰ that’s brilliant πŸ˜ƒ and I like the sound of your hydration technique 🍸 although I would probably fall over if I tried that after a run on an empty stomach 🀣🀣

Great run Foxtrot. Excellent time for a first 10k....won’t comment on the cramp.....you clearly know what you have to do! Celebration G&T doesn’t count of course!πŸ₯‡πŸ₯‡πŸ₯‡πŸ‘

Hiya thanks you for the reply and kind words i'm just hopeless on the Nutrition/Hydration side of things and as i go further i'm beginning to realise ,sometimes the hard way, that this is equally important. I hope the few days rest i will take now will give me the opportunity to sort myself out. I'm aiming for my first Half Marathon at the end of June.

I buy Zero soluble tablets. They taste nicer than plain water and I drink more as a result. Gin and tonic tastes better though 🍸😊

Ha Ha thank you for the tip i will get some of those as i do need to get myself sorted out. I'm afraid the G&T's are here to stay hence why i need to run further and further. LOL.

Congratulations Mr Fox! Really good time too for your first 10k. Nick Cave is an interesting choice for a running playlist! All the best for your next goal.

LOL. Give it a try Nick is just the best when you are crapping unexpectedly at 6k. Thanks for the kind words

That should read Cramping. I really must cut down on the Tonic with these Gin's. LOL
