So far, I've been running on the flat (except for Rhoose Point which had a seriously steep climb but, seemingly, no downhill). Anyhow, today's run had a few dips which involved running downhill. I figured that a good approach would be to kind of "freewheel" so that I could use gravity without having to put in too much effort. The result was that I picked up loads of speed and had to put a lot of effort in just to keep my legs between me and the ground. Is there a better way?
Bikes seem to handle this much better and "put your skis on edge and carve baby" isn't an option.

I’ve remembered! If you’re going too fast or it’s too steep, sort of cut across diagonally back and forth a bit like downhill skiers, rather than going straight down 👌🏽
Update: just trying to control my speed a bit made a big difference. The downside being that it results in me switching to a heel strike which I think is bad for my knees.
