Slow but very satisfying, in fact all of the above runs were, but 7k was the scary one for me, the one I couldn’t complete last October. The daughter called round yesterday and asked at short notice whether I could take her and her partner to the airport today. No chance I says I have a run. (Not a run but THE run) OH was volunteered instead who reminded me that the chimney sweep was due today at 11.00am. Why do all these events have to occur on the same day?
It was an uneventful (phew) run, a little, OK a lot tired, but its done. I still have to do my 5k for the last run and then week 3 is done. Didn’t have time to do my stretches afterwards but instead flew into the shower, threw on some clothes, quick hair dry and perfect timing the sweep arrived. Opened the door and there was a stunned silence from both of us for a few seconds, there she was a vision in dangly colourful earrings with the sootiest face and hands I have ever seen and me more red than a tomato. Is that possible? Yep! 🌚 🍅 both well earned. My favourite songs of 2019 on Spotify shuffle and my cool down walk to Sam Cooke and A Change Gonna Come. Perfect again. Happy running everyone 🤓

Thanks Baddie. Yep! Was pretty impressed with the sweep. I loved that there she was, wearing shorts, cap and boots covered in soot, but wearing fabulous earrings and anklets (when she took her boots off) she has a thriving business
Thanks Dexy, feeling a wee bit more confident now. My theory was if I got a bit of a head start on the plan, that if I don’t make the next long run I’ve got another week in hand to try again. Will have to try and find somewhere with a better surface to run on though, concrete is hard going..
Brilliant! 7k is the next target for me. Not this weekend as it's park run and I also have to do a short run with my sister who is getting back to it after being unwell.
