Back to running in the great outdoors. A little later than hoped, in my new Capri length leggings. My friends took me to the beach for a run along the path following the shoreline. Plenty of other runners and walkers, in fact some jogging on the spot required until it was clear to get through the human traffic jam.
Beautiful day, less humid than it has been. I had Xmas and Boxing Day off, so expected to do better (I always seem to after a longer recovery period). I put on the C25K+ podcast where they play music at 150bpm, then gradually up the pace. It really works for me. Despite the heat I felt strong as I reached 5km and could have gone further. I wasn't breathing particularly hard either. However my friends and their elderly dogs had done their walk so we went back home via the French Patisserie and had fruit tarts for a breakfast treat. Maybe not quite as full of protein as optimal, but very nice all the same.
My heart rate was 120bpm on finishing my run. Is that good? My resting heart rate (lying in bed) is slightly lower than 60 bpm. I know this because it is slightly slower than the clock ticking.

I love these Capris, they are 'high rise' which holds all the middle aged spread in. (I always hoped Middle Aged Spread was a type of chocolate spread you could have on toast, I was so disappointed when I got some).
Every time I go for a run the sun comes out full force. Every time I try to do highly controlled sunbathing covered in sunscreen, the sun goes in! I just wanted some vitamin D and some sun on my pasty white legs...π
Capri stripes! Bit like welly marks I imagine. But more pleasant in the making
