I hadn't run since last week's 10 mile race, the legs needed a fair bit of resting so I headed out this morning to do 5k around the village, 5k is all I am going to do for at least the rest of the year I think.
Right from the off it was just one of those runs where things didn't feel right. My legs were achy, the breathing didn't seem right and I just felt I had no rhythm. I huffed and puffed, managed a couple of decent splits in the middle but overall it was a real struggle.
So after watching and celebrating (sorry to and Tottenham fans out there) Arsenal score four I set out for another crack at it. Much better this time, 33 minutes and all splits well under 7 minutes
I'm aiming for 100 runs and 700 kilometres for the year so it's 14 runs and 68 kilometres left but with a couple of weeks off over Christmas I think I can do it.
Run happy, run safe.
