Yes they are a bit different(Rust and stone) to be clear, these aren't 'another pair' I sent the ones from last week back.

I had come to realise that the blue ones I had worn out were actually the current version, so the new pair I had purchased were the old version, and given they weren't discounted I would rather have the upto date ones and also ensure they are the same as the pair I got on well with before.

Don't need any more variables in my running at the moment.

I realised you were replacing your worn out ones. Mine are beginning to show signs of wear, though I haven't put as much distance on them as yours yet.

I've actually just had an amazing customer service response from them. On the strength of the fit in my Cloudflyers and Cloudventure Peaks, I bought the same size in the Cloudsurfers and Cloudflows and I was swimming in them, so much so that I was scuffing and kicking my opposite ankle bones. I thought they would be ok for long runs and hot swollen feet, but they were still far too roomy. i emailed them to ask their advice, thinking they would say thicker socks or inner soles or something. they came back to me and told me to return the shoes and they would replace them free of charge with a smaller size. Given that both pairs were well outside the return period and had been well run in mud etc, I think that's pretty darn good of them.

That is excellent customer support. I feel the same way about the cloudaces. I suspect a half size smaller could be a better fit. I will get down to a physical shop and try both sizes and then drop them an email. Given I have bought 4 pairs and 3 from them direct hopefully that will stand me in good stead.

I told them I was hurting myself running in them, and I pointed out I've bought several pairs from them. I've actually read of other people getting replacements out of the return period, so i think it's worth saying they were giving you shin splints because they were too large. Their sizing is all over the place. i take a 7 in ordinary shoes, 8.5 in Peaks and Flyers, have ordered 8 in the replacement Surfers and Flows, and i had to go to a 9 with the Clouds to get the width. I made my mind up that after this I wouldn't order from them direct next time but get fitted in Up & Running, as there is no guarantee that a new model in the same shoe will fit the same.

Yes that's probably wise. I have ordered online as up and running don't carry all the models and colours and it seems On aren't very good at keeping suppliers full of stock, or maybe they are price fixing as I rarely see any discounts. Whereas other shoe makes can be as much as 60-70% off at times.

No the up & Running colour choice is usually abysmal in Ons. My flyers were a dull greenish blue. Your new ones are much more fun. Runner's Need often have Ons discounted, but never in my size - they are either very large or very small.

Very nice addition for your shoe wardrobe. I like the colours.

Thankyou ju-ju, I was worried the laces were a bit salmoney. I'm metro enough to carry off a pink hue but it's not a favourite colour.. where as orange is the king of the rainbow :)

That looks to me like a deep coral pink which is pretty Metro. I think these days any colour goes on anyone. My butcher wears girls Primark t shirts and he really rocks them. Have they been on an outing yet?

Gonna try a very slow 5k later with them. Calves still feel like they are gonna ambush me, may get some more roller action in before hand hehe

Does this mean you're back in the old saddle then Pinkie? Mojo found!

Not sure yet Gary, nothing has really went well since I changed shoes, so I am hoping by putting that one parameter back to the same I can start rebuilding things. My last run was only 3k as I had to stop every 200m with tight calves, which made me think I had a small tear. I did originally take 2 weeks off but then ran with the shoes that may be suspect, and felt crap after a few runs. I will just keep trying until I get back to a clean 5k and then go from there. Dunno what else to try.

Take it easy then. Hope the new shoesies work.

Just back from a nice clean and tidy 5k. Nothing speedy by super consistent pace and it felt lovely.

I've got two different season flyers I think, it looks like those don't have a heel loop so I guess my heel-loop-less ones must be current. A shame, I like that heel loop.

Yes I did like the look of the old ones and the colour was nice just I want prepared to pay top dorrar for them. Not sure why I'd need loops though.

I wear my running shoes very tight (a throwback from the skating days I think) so I need to force them onto my feet or spend hours loosening and then retightening the laces, it's fine at home because I've got a big IKEA shoe horn to ease my feet in but it's tricky at work, I'm in danger of collapsing the heels on my work flyers... Bring the loop back, On!

Sounds like you need th elasticated lace system they have on some of the other models. Might be the surfer.

So long as they are a replacement pair, they will still fit in your super shoe store !
