W2R1 fail

Set out warm up walk completed. As soon as I start my knee is really sore. Really really sore. ☹️

I had three days off already was hoping to get going again today and heart set on a parkrun Saturday.

My Fitbit told me that was quick when I ended the run. Just what you need when you wish you were pacing your way through a nice 4k run in the park.

What really annoying is that it was immediate so I guess I’m going to need a lot more time off before I can start again.

Ouch! I would see a gp or physio and get some advice - it would help to know what the problem is. Then you can look at what rest you may need and a physio will be able to suggest the correct exercises for rehab. Good luck, hope it settles soon. In the meantime, ice is always good to help take down inflammation.

Hi there - lots of sympathy winging to you. I am just restarting following a knee injury - my GP ( who runs) was very helpful. I would see your dr or a sports physio. (One thing that I found helpful was being told what alternative exercise was ok during the healing process - for me it was swimming or cycling.)

Your knee will mend & you will run. 😀

☹️ sorry to hear that. Worth getting checked out, as you know, and rest, ice, etc etc. Hope it settles down soon 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Thanks guys it’s so disappointing. That’s two things I never thought I’d say. Disappointed about not running and ‘mmmm this avocado is really nice’ getting old.

I have a similar thing but it is ankle that started to niggle during my last run and is worse 2 days later. Swollen and sore. Am resting. Staying with friends and wanted to run round their flat village and explore but am sitting on their comfy sofa alternating ice pack and heat

I feel for you. Is it side, front or back? There is some info on the NHS website about running injuries and what to do. I’ve been ice and heating but my hamstrings are really tight too so I am self referring to a physio. Hopefully the nhs exercises will help.

I hear Pilates is good for running too. I’m not so good at social sports 😊 hope your ankle feels better soon. I would get it checked soon you may have fractured it (?).
