A bit of an imposter here as I'm not really a 10k aspirant, just looking to maintain and where possible improve my running after graduating C25k. But to our tale:
Different gremlins oppose the runner in different circumstances. When not following a programme like C25k the Indecision one comes in to play. I've been doing 5k runs and some a little longer - I reason that if I want to get better at 5k then it's best if I am not physically incapable of 5.1. But I found this training plan edinburghmarathon.com/train... and I thought I might give it a go - I was going to start it in the spring leading up to the EMF 5k but I think I might be ready for it now and who knows, I might be able to do a more advanced one leading up to Edinburgh. I've downloaded an app that allows you do programme in different times for fast and slow and it's already set up for the first week of that plan ...
So I should go out for a run now but do I do the slow 6.5k or do I have a first go at the intervals, much shorter and much faster? While I'm trying to decide that, I'm not running, am I? Either would be good but if I don't decide I'll do neither ... I think I'll just get out there and see how I feel after the warmup and see which option my feet take. At least that way I'm running! (Don't normally run on Friday due to parkrun on Saturday but I've volunteered to tail walk tomorrow. See, now I'm going off on another subject and i'm still not running. The Prevarication Gremlin. STOP IT, BOTH OF YOU!)
