Bring me laughter all the while ..... thanks Eric and Ernie you always made me laugh. They’ve arrived!! I promised Flick a photo of my new leggings, still waiting for one more parcel, but I wore the comic ones to parkrun on Saturday. Bliss! comfy and come with a zipped pocket whats not to love about them? Had to get dressed in the dark again, turned the bedside lamp on and the bulb literally exploded, certainly kickstarted the ole heart I can tell you.

I had channelled my inner Marie Kondo and prepared my gear the night before, I know organised or what? So tee shirt worn the right way round and with the label on the inside too! Drove to park run, still with the car lights on but it was brilliant to arrive in daylight and run in sunshine. Popped my sunnies on, put on Jancanrun’s retro runners 60’s special and ran, no thoughts about times or distance, just running and thinking how lucky I am that I found c25k and what a difference it has made to my life.

I hope to restart juju’s 10k plan when the weather improves and I can do my 3 runs a week, but for now I’ll run when I can and hopefully be carrying a bit less of me around, fewer 🥂 will help. The capris yet to arrive are a size smaller, so a big incentive. I really will have to re-organise my running drawer, it still looks like a dog’s breakfast! 🥝

Nice photo of your new colourful leggings, I bet you had a few comments about the comic ones at the park run on Saturday. You said they were bliss and very comfortable, that is the main thing, no point wearing the latest fashion in anything if you are not comfortable, that was awkward the bulb exploding and giving you a fright. Nice T-shirt you have as well, that keeps you cool, especially in hot weather. I wish you all the best on your running journey towards Juju's 10k plan.

Thanks AlMorr, funny no one commented on the leggings apart from a young guy who gave me the thumbs up and said great tights! when he flew past me to the finish! I was still slow and steadying my way to the half way point 😂 Might try the elephant capris next park run, they’re just so cheerful. Sadly I’m still wearing my thermals under the tee shirt, but thank you for your kind thoughts.

Wow! Those look great! 👍😃❤️❤️

Not sure if I’m seeing the right emoji, but I’m still laughing at the thought that your dog eats chopped kiwi fruit for breakfast! 😂😂

He'would probably eat kiwifruit too, as it is he has the most amazing hearing, we can't eat bananas or apples without him coming running. I only have to peel the sticker (why do they have to do that?) off the apple and he's right behind me waiting for his piece. Even tried to eat a banana in the pantry and he heard me peel it. I buy large bananas to share now. :)

I had a Saluki years ago who used to steal bananas. He would extract one from a bunch, nibble a small hole, insert his nose, unzip the skin and daintily eat the contents. Somebody once bought a bunch just to see him do it. He stole grapes as well. Those are now in the list of highly dangerous for dogs, but we didn’t know at the time and he survived.

🤣 I’m having a giggle over breakfast at that, what an amazing, clever dog. I love watching Salukis walk, so elegant. I have a Bichon cross and a Jack russell cross no prizes for guessing which is the challenging one?

Don't the comic book ones look fab in full length! So much that they blew your light bulb! I only have them in capri. And you got the Aztec ones. I have GOT to get the paint swirl ones. I've been thinking about it for ages and you've decided me. But whether to get leggings or capris? Decisions, decisions. Also I think they will have to be a Christmas present as I'm spent up ... sigh ...

Anyway, you look lovely in your new kit. And i agree about c25k. It was tougher than any running I've done since, but it was worth it. Loved ju-ju's 10k plan too. I enjoy running free and just exploring, then looking at the stats later, but every so often it's good to stretch yourself, have a bit of structure to take you up a level again. xx

Definitely get the full length paint swirl, the colours and pattern are sensational. My short legs don't do them justice. I'm going to order full length next sale. Fab company, I ordered one snug and they threw in a free one. Will start juju's plan after the next one I think, I miss the structure. The kilos are starting to shift, so I might be a little faster by then too. :)

in reply tolexi6

You've decided me, full length it is. Which brings me to your legs: I can't see short ones, just lovely trim, muscled ones :)

Sorry just had problem with i pad and couldn’t reply. You’re very kind Flick, thank you. Am looking forward to my next parcel from Sturdy now. It was like Christmas here the other day. I was in the UK 3 years ago and liked Fatface shop, so did some more shopping and a wee parcel from them too. Loving this shopping.

in reply tolexi6

Be careful of online shopping! It’s a slippery slope 😳

I know what you mean, but since taking up running I have been quite shocked at the prices charged for running gear here and all my recent purchases cost me the same as two pair of leggings would cost me in NZ. Next trip to the UK, will not only be to try some parkruns, but buy some lovely new gear. The spare room has empty drawers whoo hoo! now that 16 yr old grandaughter doesn’t stay over any more 😢 X

in reply tolexi6

Exactly the same here, my 14 year old granddaughter doesn't stay anymore (or very rarely) so i have requisitioned the dressing table drawers in 'her' room x

Aww! I know its normal, one minute you’re the centre of their universe and then ... still when it came time to get rid of her teddies and soft toys, she sorted through them all and she wanted nearly all of them kept, so am going to have to be the tough one and donate them. 🤫 x

in reply tolexi6

let her keep them, as long as she takes them home :)
