Before race: it’s not about the bling or PB’s; it’s about challenging yourself, setting a target and achieving your goal.
Post race : PB!BLING! PB!BLING! HAVE YOU SEEN MY BLING!...I GOT A PB!...LOOOOK BLIIIIIINNNNNGGGGGGG!!
Decided to give this one a go as it’s nearly on my doorstep and some colleagues from work were doing the 5k on the same day. I’ve been working on my 5k and can now do nearly 28mins each time but I’m literally breathing in through my nose and out my arse at the end of one of those , so I’ve been trying to get my self a steadier pace for a 10k , 31 out 31 back.
The course was lovely and kind, all flat , I have spent all week praying for the sun to reduce its power but didn’t expect my prayers to be answered with a howling gale ( 6 lotto numbers would of been more handy )
Over the moon with a shiney new PB 01:02:21 and without further ado....
BLIIIIIIIIING

My daughter was born in East Oxford, off the Iffley Road. I first came there in the 60s and fell in love with it. I think of it as my home town. Canterbury was a diversion to buy our first house, but i also went to art college there (70s). Loved it. Now I can't wait to get back to Oxford. It's beautiful in the Cotswolds, but i want to go home. LOL, this is the 6th time I've left Oxford and I always regret it. x
It's a lovely place, I actually lived outside in Towersey but of course spent a lot of time in the city too. I think that's why I like Edinburgh so much, it's got a similar dreaming spires feel to it! I do love a pointy, beautiful city.
Sorry Olderthandirt, totally hijacked this bit of your thread! Got overexcited 😄 That's a cracking finish time and a lovely medal, I see all these lovely races around the place and get terribly jealous. I think a bit of running tourism may be in order for me!
I don't think you can beat university cities, so lively and interesting, beautiful usually and lots going on. I haven't been to Edinburgh since the early 70s but loved it.
