The sun is still shining here but I know across the river in london on Friday there were some thunder storms.
As the sun is shining right now most of us will be finding little spots of shade as we run. It will be interesting to see at the end of the Quest if we are still looking for shade or ducking under the trees to ward off the rain. 😀.
Now, what has everyone been up to this week, and you can still join us if you have just Graduated and would like some motivation....
I do hope you will join me to chat and share your goals and challenges.
What the Quest is;
The Quest takes one calendar month . You can join any point within that time.
The aim of the Quest is to help you find a focus or goal that you would like to achieve by the end of the Quest period.
I ask that you will be a Graduate to join the Quest. The main reason I ask this is that while you are completing the programme, your plan is very structured so I wouldn't want the Quest to interfere with that.
Most popular goals are:-
To run three times a week
To slowly increase distance
To train for a specific race
To add In Stretch and Strength exercises
As you can see they are personal to yourself and it's totally your own choice. Each week, I will pin a new post where all the members of the quest can talk about how things are going.
So if you want to join, all you have to do is put;
I would like to join the Quest, or, count me in and then, I would like to. ..............
Your name will then be added to the top post and every week your name will be in the quest until the end.
At the end of the Quest, there will be a certificate that you can download to keep.
Wishing you a happy healthy month x

I have my podiatry appointment tomorrow so I am really hoping not to be benched. It was supposed to be last Saturday but it had to be changed, so I will be keeping everything crossed for tomorrow
I’ve managed to keep to 3 runs over 30 minutes so far this month but I’m accelerating joining Ju-ju’s plan and that’s going to make my first run less than that for the rest of the month. I’m hoping I get a “by” on that and the runs still count!
My virtual Flamingo challenge is now half way through and so far I have run and walked 51.1k this month. This week I ran twice and went for two walks of around 8k.
No ice cream this week and I intend to start doing daily sit ups...starting tomorrow..
Hi all, have completed 3 runs this week which is really 2 more than I was expecting. For the past 2 years I have taken running kit on holiday and brought it home untouched. This year I diligently packed the shoes, shorts, T and hat.
There was really no reason not to run. Ok it was a little hotter than London but there was a reasonably flat route from the area we were staying to the town of Chania along the coast. Had the added benefit of a sea breeze and lovely views.
Running goal - 40% complete so I need to keep an eye on that. Easier to catch up with running though
Yoga - 4 days so yes, still more often than not
Weight - this was going really well, a definite shift down. All totally wiped out by the impact of niece's birthday cake and a very rare meal out (no starter, no dessert) yesterday... maybe that will fall away as quickly as it came.
A promising week, which is more than you can say about my dealings with the local authority...
Good morning fellow Questers. I have another week of 3 runs under my belt,eaning I'm now on my 6th week of returning to running. All my runs last week were 4k, hoping to reach mini-goal of 5k either this week or next. Seem to be most comfortable at about 9min/k for the first two laps and 8min/k for the last 2. Maybe it's the heat or maybe I'm preparing the groundwork for some long slow runs in the not too distant future...
I'm very pleased with myself : I managed to do my 3 runs (Stepping Stones Stamina + SS speed + one 5K) and having run with my son in Quebec four times the two previous weeks, I texted him the resume on my app each time. So he's now matching my runs with his own in Quebec!
Am also doing Pilates on my rest days and enjoying it immensely.
This week, I've already done one run - two to go and I'm looking forward to N° 3, as it will be on the cliffs in Brittany!
Mixed bag last week! As I was ill I didn't make it to Wednesday's club run ☹️ it gave me a chance to do a non-stop run on Thursday instead though where I managed 8k - my furthest yet! Did my 2 kettlebells sessions and managed my first sub 5min km in my short run so all in all a good week 😀
Last week I was on holidays and had an absolutely phenomenal week of running. I got 3 awesome runs in - 2 trail runs (each between 4-5k) and a road run just under 10k. This week I'm back to work and have a pile of on-call which will make it difficult to get my runs in. I'll try to get 2 runs in on the 2 nights I'm not on call and head to the lake on Friday for a trail run before starting my weekend on call Friday night 🤞🙏. I sure hope I can follow through. I may need to keep my evening runs short and sweet. I'm not really following any plan now, just getting out doing what I can and loving every minute of it.
