How are you all doing? Today is another milestone in my runstreak, I got to 555 which I am so happy about. It feels so good to be reaching towards our goals and going beyond what we thought would be possible.... You are all doing so well with so many people graduating its really super... well done
Great tips ju-ju- ! I was counting for the last km of my run yesterday
Think I might try and see if I can make the Army time for 1.5 miles in my short run this week. Just got to work out how to set my watch up for it! It's an 800m warm up jog (I'd ideally like longer - I usually don't get into the zone until the 3rd km!!) then into the run.
It's annoying that they mix units - 1.5 miles is apparently 2.41402km π
Well done on your 555 streak, Ju-Ju! Great work. I am on week 8 of the programme, and loving the long runs. I listen to podcasts to distract myself. Works a treat for me, but I do pause them when running through the woods, as I love hearing the birdsong and the crackle of twig underfoot. x
Amazing achievement on your 555 streak.π₯ππββοΈπ₯
I like your counting tips and I will
try that. The forward and reverse will be an interesting test.π€π. Definately a distraction.
I have completed your week 5 of your programme.
I have a maximum of 5 distance runs over the next 3 weeks, which will include one HM distance.
After a 10.9k & 15k for wk5 and 4 weeks missed on strength, due to speed challenge,I am getting back on track now and will start a Pilates class next week in addition to 4 hours of strength stuff.
For the first time ever I have felt a following day muscle tightness.
I am going to stay chilled about the remaining planned distances and if the opportunity presents itself the HM distance will just happen on one of the planned runs.β
As I have no present plans to continue with HM in preference to returning to 5k&10K pace and on your next 10 the magic number 10 k plan.
Take care of you Panther Leader and good luck to everyone on your programme.π₯πββοΈπββοΈπ₯
Actually feel like I smashed it this week, I am loving the structure and yet sense of freedom of this plan! Iβm feeling better than ever, PBs all over the place, still a π but Iβm not in a competition with anyone else, just myself and Iβm kicking my last yearβs/monthβs/weekβs ass π ππͺππ»ββοΈ
555 is just amazing Ju-Ju! Awe-inspiring πππ Don't know how you do it, running is one thing but life also tends to get in the way of plans as gargantuan as yours! Massive respect π€
Loved this week's tips, I tend to focus on sections, run to the next village, run through said village, run around the new development, run back through village, run back to home village, run through home village, run past field road, if extra mileage needed and return home. It really works. Each section is only a few Km's at most so it really breaks things up.
Liked the tip about counting backwards on your hill climb- I have a hill about 1k from home- no way to avoid it- and itβs my nemesis especially on the longer runs. Iβm going to try your distraction technique π
Well done with the 555! . . . yes just completed my week 5, onwards and upwards next week with week 6. After that I'm going to have to take a weeks break due to hols but will be picking things up after that for the last leg so to speak
Ran the W5 8K nice and early this morning. Happily the apps behaved (doubling up with strava AND mampmyrun after last weeks fail). However my headphones ran out of battery around 4.5K (seems they are no longer charging!). When they went beee be be beeeep and powered down I couldn't help but wonder if I might do the same thing ... I hung on in there though and finished the 8K. Time to recharge my batteries now
I'm sick of this bloody bridge. Gives me nightmares! Ju-Ju and the gang of hobbits (that's you lot!) are there shouting encouragement, but all I could see was a Gandalf like figure in Adidas lycra running shorts, aloft that precarious bridge, waving his staff and shouting "You Shall Not Pass"! So 8k today turned to 9k turned to 9.5k, turned to 10k. Done it. Maybe the first (and quite possibly the last!) time I ever manage it, but tick that box. 10k DONE! Thanks Ju-Ju. Never, ever, ever thought that would be possible. x
no bee shorts today - they had an outing to Hastings at the weekend. Today I opted for the 'solar' green shirt as per the profile pic. Unfortunately, the local bees mistook me, not for one of their own, but as a giant green Hydrangea with a lifetime supply of nectar!....run!
Hi ju-ju- ...Iβm a little bit behind, Iβm just anticipating my W4R3, 8k....sounds like a long way but Iβm going to take it on the chin tomorrow π x
Glad I've squeezed out my big run this week. Off on holibobs on Sunday to Italy, and have my route from the villa mapped out. But 30 degrees and mountainous makes me think it may be tough going!
Wow thatβs so exciting.... have a fab holiday. When I went on holiday mid summer I went just at daybreak, itβs the coolest time..... stay cool, drink lots, nice and slow and enjoy your holiday πππ
I've done the long run and the 5K, just gotta fit in a 4 tomorrow at a time when we won't evaporate! There was a breeze yesterday but it was still ridiculous.
