Hello all. Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the sunshine and their running!

The days are now longer, brighter, sunnier! So why not set some new goals to keep you moving and covering the miles? For those who are on this quest, please let us now how your week has gone.

This is the final week of our Move and Make Miles in May Quest. The Quest will now run through to the end of the month when I will put up final post for your updates with a certificate that you can download if you wish. Happy running everyone!

What the Quest is;

The Quest takes one calendar month . You can join any point within that time.

The aim of the Quest is to help you find a focus or goal that you would like to achieve by the end of the Quest period.

I ask that you will be a Graduate to join the Quest. The main reason I ask this is that while you are completing the programme, your plan is very structured so I wouldn't want the Quest to interfere with that.

Most popular goals are:-

To run three times a week

To slowly increase distance

To train for a specific race

To add In Stretch and Strength exercises

As you can see they are personal to yourself and it's totally your own choice. Each week, I will pin a new post where all the members of the quest can talk about how things are going.

So if you want to join, all you have to do is put;

I would like to join the Quest, or, count me in and then, I would like to. ..............

Your name will then be added to the top post and every week your name will be in the quest until the end.

At the end of the Quest, there will be a certificate that you can download to keep.

Wishing you a happy healthy month x

Hi

I am only just joining this quest but have been running 3 x week. Since graduating Juju’s 10K though I have been doing some shorter and some 7,8k or 9 k runs and one 10 k. I usually run after work on Tuesdays Thursdays and either Sat or Sun - however with the hot weather - which I love - I have been more reluctant to run at 5:30 or 6 pm! :-(

This week for example I ran 6 k last Saturday and I am sitting in the garden at the moment !!

Will need to go tomorrow morning instead . Next week will be going to Paris with work for a week : will need to take my running gear 🌞

I set my May mileage target at an easy 25 miles because I was booked in to hospital from the 13th. I am now setting my May quest to be getting back home before the month is out. It seems all the running has worked wonders as I'm well ahead of my anticipated release date in early June. Physio here reckons I'll be running again within 12 weeks.

Wow - can't believe May is almost over! Unfortunately work has interrupted my alternate day running plan a bit - but I have still managed to squeeze in 3 runs a week and last weekend ran my second 10k to prove the first wasn't a fluke 😁

Should manage alternate day running this week and next week is half term so hoping for some leisurely morning runs to see May out.

Sounds like a good running month Debs!

Still running 4 times a week. Have done two runs since my 11k last week, a 3k and 5.13k. Hoping to do a 7 or 8k run later today. I don't know how long this running alternate days streak will last, but I seem to have made a breakthrough. I really want to start working on pace and time soon, now that 5k seems like an easy run. I'm still really slow and want to get back that wind in my hair feeling.

I’d like the sports physio to say i can carry on running this afternoon. I haven’t run since Saturday and I need to get out there again. I must miss it πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

After an excellent session with the physio, I have four exercises to do everyday to strengthen the ligaments attached to my left ankle and increase the range of movement . The good news is that running cannot cause more damage. So, as long as I can bear the twinges I can get back to my post graduation running. Hoorah 😁

Well, I have completed my round of medical checkups, so that's good (two new sets of lenses, dentist stumped, and an unexpected (non-cancerous) finding on that colonoscopy you get offered for turning 55 these days that explains a few things. Swimming going quite well. The rest all a bit patchy and I don't have much hope of doing my May 20k (on the bike) Which isn't the same as no hope and I'll take patchy over nothing. Plus there seems to have been a slightly speedier element to swims and runs, most unexpected.

The medical stuff all sounds a bit... much. I hope all is well. Speedy and patchy are good.

Only 2 short runs so far... and thunder and rain have stopped play this morning... the rain would not bother me, but I am no keen on running in a thunder storm... so... I shall hit the machine this morning... and impress myself with how much faster I move indoors:)

Happy running all!

Morning:)

Well it is not my idea of fun, but... it really is throwing it down... funny how if I am out in the rain it is not a problem... but getting togged up and heading out in it... needs determination and the thunder clap sealed the deal :)

Thank you !!
