Hello all. Hope everyone is doing well and enjoying their running!
The days are now definitely longer and brighter, so why not set some new goals to keep you moving and covering the miles?
This is Week 1 of our Move and Make Miles in May Quest. The Quest will run through to the end of the month, with weekly Monday update posts throughout. Happy running everyone!
What the Quest is;
The Quest takes one calendar month . You can join any point within that time.
The aim of the Quest is to help you find a focus or goal that you would like to achieve by the end of the Quest period.
I ask that you will be a Graduate to join the Quest. The main reason I ask this is that while you are completing the programme, your plan is very structured so I wouldn't want the Quest to interfere with that.
Most popular goals are:-
To run three times a week
To slowly increase distance
To train for a specific race
To add In Stretch and Strength exercises
As you can see they are personal to yourself and it's totally your own choice. Each week, I will pin a new post where all the members of the quest can talk about how things are going.
So if you want to join, all you have to do is put;
I would like to join the Quest, or, count me in and then, I would like to. ..............
Your name will then be added to the top post and every week your name will be in the quest until the end.
At the end of the Quest, there will be a certificate that you can download to keep.
Wishing you a happy healthy month x

Count me in please. Having run one 10k, i would like to build on that and slowly increase my distance. Failing that, doing another 10k some time this month would be excellent.
Life is still too chaotic to commit to anything concrete this month, but I MUST get back to some form of running to help with my sanity and stress relief. Here's hoping for 2 (3 runs some weeks?) runs per week. My son's soccer started last night next to the pathway I like to run so I used that time to get in a quick 30 min run and still managed to watch 30 minutes of his game. I got back just in time to see him score his first goal! Whoohoo!
Yes please! I definitely want to move and make miles (and get my own orchids blooming again) in May as I have signed up for the Breastfeeding Network's Mums' Milk Run and earn the first part of the wooden medal. This means 20kms... although it doesn't have to be all in one go (or even running) and I think the jump from 13 to 20km running in one month might be too much.... unless of course I do it on the bike, which would make me so, so happy.
So that's my main focus. I'll be aiming to keep up with all the usual other stuff besides, blah, blah which I may or may not report on.
Another thing I want to refocus on is meditation and yoga, especially as I have switched to a new (to me) laptop which actually has a functional battery so I can take the laptop into my 'yoga studio' (aka bathroom) and do a class. So let's say 10 new classes over the month shall we? With a balance between meditation/restorative/pranayama focussed and more active, strength and flexibility focussed classes.
And finally, a suite of top to toe checkups - I need to book an eye test, and already have dental checkup and bowel scoping screening booked. I shall definitely want a certificate for getting that lot out of the way!
Lots of ambition there GoogleMe! Love the extra curricular Orchid blooming element..... (finally today managed to get my veggie patch all ready for the off .......yeayyyyyyyy).
10 new classes sounds a good plan, and well done on the health checks, terrific aim for the month. Iβve added you in ππΌ
Ps the orchid photo at top of this post is one I took whilst on hols before Christmas..... Blooming lovely!
Please count me in. I want to continue running on alternate days (mixing up longer and shorter runs and throwing in some intervals for fun!!) and after building up to 10k last month I'd like to run this distance at least once again this month (to prove to myself I really can). Am also hoping I might be running in the sun!
Please can I join the May Quest Millsie, I want to move and make miles ( or kmsπ) this month.
Feeling better, after most of April with hardly any running. I would like to get back to regular running and am back on the up to 10k plan. I have done a 3.7k and a 5k and will be doing my 7k as a Virtual Race on Friday ' May the 4th be with you).. I had hoped to be doing the 10k for this...but need to build up to it, so 7 it is.
I hope to get up to 10k again in the next few weeks.
Iβd like to join in please. My quest is to increase weekly mileage by adding in an extra mid length tempo paced run, and slow down my long weekly recovery run so I am more focussed on each runβs purpose. π
i would like to join Millsie only just managing to run 5k managed it twice now I would like to continue with at least one 5k a week and couple of shorter runs x
Yes, please, count me in! Goals are to get back up to 10k comfortably and to get back into my lovely gym, woohoo, where I will work on my core. Again. All systems are (nearly) go after the op so all should be fine
