I'm on the laptop now so it's quicker to type. Returned home this week from a week in Tenerife. I had planned to run, and took my things with me, but it turned out not to be practical from where we were staying. We weren't that close to the coastal promenade, and it would have taken effort to get there and back. We were there for a relaxing week as it's been a stressful, busy year for us, and I decided just to spend most of my time lying by the pool! I did do a fair bit of swimming, but not strenuously I also did Pilates twice, and yoga once.
Having been off the forum for over a week, it's very difficult to catch up with everything. I see that Oldfloss has changed her profile picture! The world keeps turning!
With my earlier holiday in Norfolk, I had gained 2-3 pounds which I hadn't shifted, and now on return from Tenerife I find I've gained another 2-3 pounds! Too much good food and wine! Overall that makes me about 10 pounds over my ideal weight, which is not good. I've decided to use MyFitnessPal to log my food intake, which I've used sporadically in the past (it was first recommended to me by a trainer at my gym). I reckon that I can lose 1 pound per week (slow and steady!), which would get me to my ideal weight by Christmas. I also reckon that if I tell you, my friends on here, that I'm doing this, it will keep me motivated to reach this particular goal.
Hopefully I can get out and try the new shoes tomorrow - this afternoon was spent clearing leaves!

Sounds like it was good to have a week to switch off and relax. I am sure you will be raring to go on your next run on fresh legs!
It is good to have a complete change and rest after a stressful busy time. I have also put on a few pounds (not sure how many since my scales aren't reliable!) I need to slim down so I can get into a dress for a Christmas wedding. Perhaps we can encourage each other 😉 Have a great run tomorrow. I am off out in the morning too (birthday run 😁).
Happy birthday! Let me know how your run goes. I'm going out this afternoon 😅
Welcome home Its depressing that weight starts to go on so easily and comes off so slow! One of the things I love about running is that I no longer watch what I eat. I am off out shortly, just having a cuppa and psyching myself up for a 10k run. There I've said it now so I have to do it!
Sometimes it just has to be done, a complete rest to let the stress just drift away. You'll get back into it, because you know how well you feel when on your healthy regime...😊
