I have decided to soon start training for another HM in late April next year. Have got plenty of time - around 20 weeks. I am at a bit of a loss lately with nothing specific to train for - so have been following one of Jack Daniels "running for Fitness " plans which has a couple of days of tempo runs in it. I have already followed JG's HM "to finish in an upright position" plan - so this time I will follow his "time goal" plan. He does some 800 metre tempo runs in this plan - done at a pace about 30 seconds per Klm faster than goal race pace. Last year I did some goal race pace runs but will take it up a notch for this one. I should be able to incorporate these runs into parkrun days.

Faster than race pace? That's a new one for me, but I can see how it makes sense.

Good luck on the training. It's always a great motivational "trick" to have a race to train for.
