unhelpful insurance agencies

I was diagnosed with Her 2 : 3 positive for breast cancer in January 2023. Started chemotherapy with Paclitaxal weekly and injection Phesgo once in 3 weeks. My insurance company National Isiramve denies reimbursement for Phesgo calling it as a modern medicine. I was made to understand Phesgo with chemotherapy is covered by insurance.

Now I have had surgery and have been advised Herceptin Trastuzumab which is administered to prevent the recurrence Of cancer cells

I was made to believe that Herceptin Trastuzumab are required for a full and effective recovery of HER2 Positive

Breast Cancer Patients.

Why is this too denied by insurance company How is one suppose to bear the cost of the treatment as well pay premium to the insurance company

Please check if you have any Tata memorial cancer centres near your place. The cost of Trastuzumab 440 mg is 12k there.

If not, you can check with your treating doctor about providing free vials . Some pharma companies provide 2+1. Some provide 1+1.

Also, Glenmark pharma company has reduced the cost of Trastuzumab to 15k for 440mg. The News was out yesterday. Please check with your hospital.
