My mom is having Metastatic breast cancer,ER/PR positive HER2 negative type & developed fluid in the pleura.Doctor(Apollo Hyderabad) prescribed hormone therapy (Aromotase inhibitor ) for 3 months.But after taking for a month her symptoms like breathlessness and fluid level decreased.Is it the right best treatment for her?Kindly advice?Doctor suggested for Palbociclib ,but cannot afford due to highcost, we are from middle class family.Please suggest any option to buy the medicine at affordable price?Or shall we continue with hormonal therapy?

If you can afford 7.2 -7.8 lakhs for a years worth of treatment with palbociclib or Ribociclib.. That is the best Treatment for your moms cancer. It gives a disease free survival interval for nearly 22-26 months on an average.
Enquire with your Doctor, the scheme is you pay for 10-11 months, and rest of medications is free for life... till evidence of progression.
If you cant afford, then stick with Letrozole 2.5 mg which most of the patients from middle class are on treatment. It fetches disease free survival interval of nearly 12-14 months or so on an average ..and if there is progression, the doctor will change the medication.
These are branded labelled medication and you wont find it cheaper any where else other than bangladesh or so, where there is no guarantee of what you re buying.
