Hello everyone.. Gm all. 42 years female lady b--patient of BREAST CA since january 2014.Recent mammography report shows BIRADS 5 & she undergone mastectomy recently. No axillary lymph adenopathy was there.. My ques------- wat is the prognosis for dis pt & wat r the chances of breast ca to her daughter
Chances of Breast ca in daugter - Breast Cancer India
Chances of Breast ca in daugter
Prognosis looks good given the fact nodes are negative.
If this is Bilateral Breast cancer...the risk to daughter will depend on her Family History.
A session with a genetics counsellor and /your Oncologist may be useful, as all the relevant clinical Info and history would be available to them.
Best Wishes
Agree with Dr. Rohit above.
As for your first question, can't comment on prognosis without knowing full history, examination, other reports, and histopathology report. Just a few words from the report are not enough to decide someone's prognosis. A lot of detail needs to be seen. Your Oncologist is best guide for that. Please ask this to him / her.
As for chances to pass on to daughter, I suggest you meet a genetic counselor in your area. If there is a high risk, the counseller will advise for genetic testing.
Thanx sir for ur valuable reply.. Sir can u plz advice me some options for 2nd opinion(just for cross check & prognosis point of view) & also for genetic counselling... We are from chattisgarh and she is under treatment from aiims delhi..
I do not have much knowledge of centers in Delhi since I am from Mumbai. But I suppose you can speak with the docs at AIIMS and see if they have a genetic counselor there. I am sure they will have. If not, you can ask them for guidance. All Oncologists know where to refer for a Genetic Counsellor.
As for second opinion, there are so many centers there. You can select any hospital and meet a Medical Oncologist, if your second opinion involves decisions on chemotherapy.
You can input your family history in our free and anonymous tool and it will tell you if the daughter is at risk (according to standard assumptions adopted e.g. by the UK).
The genetic risk comes a few steps down after pressing "get started".
