My wife completed chemotherapy ,radiation and 17 doses of herceptin on 29th June. She is overall feeling alright and the oncologist is also of the opinion that she is doing well and had advised chest Xray, and ultrasonic report of abdomen and pelvic on 30th of this month.I had discussed regarding PET scan but according to him it is not necessary at this stage and may be after a year.I will like to have an opinion on this.

thanks

PET scan is not needed for routine surveillance.

The main part is history and physical examination. Then if you Oncologist feels something is abnormal, only then he may suggest a PET CT to be done. Otherwise, no investigations are to be done.
