Eye boil or stye for cancer patient.

My mom got similar boil as shown in pic.She got it while taking last course of radiation.My mom radiation completed in june.3 months over still its not gone.We met eye doctor,he said it will go automatically otherwise he need to do minor cut over boil to remove it.My concern is whethere this boil can turn as cancer? My mom is stage 3 patient.currently undergoing herceptin course.Any idea about this?

I do not think this boil can turn at cancer. If it is like the one in the picture, it looks clearly like a stye. And, for a stye, if it doesn't settle, like your eye doctor said, one can take a small cut and get it out. Nothing to worry about at all.

Yes doctor my mom got same as in picture.I am not sure what to call it in medical terms.So i mentioned both stye and boil.Thanks for reply...

Yes, It is indeed a stye. In medical terms, we call it 'Internal Hordeolum'. Ask your eye doctor. He is a better judge.

After the treatment the amount of boils i got were amazing...never had them in life...still keep getting itchy eruptions all over...dont worry...all is well
