Hello, my mom was diagnosed Friday with stage IV Neuro endocrine fast growing lung cancer. We are doing radiation mapping for her shoulder/ arm pain Monday and then 5 day course. They want to put a port in next week and start three infusions the next week. For three rounds if she decides to do it?

Atezolizumab, Etoposide, Carboplatin

They’ve also collected blood to send for Tempus ?? Study or trial?

Will she lose her hair?

Did you find anything helpful with side effects of any of these?

Just trying to get more information.

With gratitude!

Hi Abigayle, really sorry to read your post, its heartbreaking to watch a loved one go through this treatment. i cannot help re the specific cancer or treatment as I had breast cancer. The only thing I can recommend is a port, to my mind its so much kinder than being stabbed all the time and makes the administration of drugs and blood samples so much easier. I wish you both all the luck in the world. My only advice would be to take note of all the medics tell you and do as they recommend in terms of taking care of yourselves. Take care of each other. xxxx
