It's almost a relief when the inevitable finally happens Debs ( I felt anyway). Love your humour, having a sense of humour and the ability to laugh at oneself does ease the pain somewhat. I'm two and something months into 'wiggery' myself and if it weren't so damned hot ( here in Our Australian summer) the wearing of it wouldn't be quite so annoying. On the upside, we no longer have to 'do' our hair, or visit the hairdresser, but can be instantly ready! I am always getting complements on my haircut etc, sometimes I confess, depends on my mood at the time. I'm hanging on to a few eyelashes and eyebrows, although an eyebrow pencil is now prt of the daily going out regime. Good luck with it all Debs. β€πΊ
Hi Jac yes I'm enjoying the instant hair I must admit!
I found a website today called 'live better with.com' and thoroughly enjoyed myself choosing a new soft cotton indoor beanie hat to catch the little drifters as they float away.....it does make my back itch when they go down my top! π³π.
I also ordered an eyebrow 'pencil' which has gel at one end and adheres fibres to yr eyebrow with the other end.......and its cruelty free! Looking forward to receiving that.
It's a lovely website too.
Good luck with those temperatures tho..... ππβοΈ and take care in the sun!

That brow pencil sounds awesome!
Yes I was impressed with the concept. I have large dark brows so that will be noticeable when they go, so again, thinking ahead! Over the moon with it being cruelty free too. And they come in different shades too. Let me know if you want me to message you the link and I'll try........
I've never used an eyebrow pencil before, in fact I gave up on makeup over 20 years ago π³ so watch this space ππ
Thanks for the offer Debs, but I'm a dab hand with the pencil now. I have some eyebrow left - the ugly course ones are hanging in there and I just make hair like strokes with the pencil. I've been in the hair and make up industry all my working life, although I've been retired for years, you never forget the skills. ππ
All the best Debster2016. I went for the bald look as I get awfully hot and both hats and wig were not great. Hair has come back straight and much darker than it was in the past π
ThanksLainey you are brave to embrace the bald look and who knows what my return growth will be? I'm crossing everything it doesn't grow back grey......pehaps I should start taking bets....? π.
Or just buy longer wigs π€£πxxxx
Hi Debster2016
It comes out almost to the day they predict, mine started to come out on my 60th Birthday & was all gone by the following day, so wig on & went to my Birthday Afternoon Tea ππ»
Tip for the eyebrows if your right handed do the left one first then it's easier to copy the right one, no two days ever the same! π Eyelashes hang on a bit longer but then sadly they give up too!
Keep Well & Positive
Angela π
Thank you for the tip Angela, never having dressed my eyebrows ever before it will be a new experience for both of us! I'm ready for it which helps with being positive, as did buying the wig ahead of time.
Mind you I was never advised when the hair would go - I will tell my oncologist on Thursday that it would be helpful to know so perhaps she could tell other ladies in advance....- so I am extremely grateful for this forum for helping me be prepared.
It started to go on Sunday but even today I still look like I have a head full of hair.....ππ.
Round 2 this Friday! So I plan on having a good week πππΆββοΈ.
Ttfn πΉπ
Hi Debbie
I asked 'Call Me Duncan' (that's how he introduced himself) when my hair was likely to fall out, due to the approaching Big 60 Day 14 -16 he said & he was spot on! My Birthday was 15 days away & yes about half came out on my birthday, the rest the following day!
I got on well with CMD & told him I didn't really like Men who were always right but I'd make an exception in his case! π He's always been spot on with everything, l see him again at the end of February.
Yep Week Three is great for seeing friends & catching up. Just don't let people kiss n hug you, I was OCD about it but it kept me well! Mrs Handwipes that was me! π€ I still am!
Take Care & Keep in Touch
Angela π
PS take a scarf with you to Chemo this week, my head was sore a few days after it fell out so I wore a fuschia Turban, with matching lipstick π to my 2nd Chemo but it was OK after that.
General Tip ~ l always kept a little cap & a headband in my handbag just in case l needed it, sometimes l'd wear it in the car & put the wig on when I got wherever l was going.
But the best was, we went to the Theatre, (night before next Chemo) it was blowing a gale as we were leaving, so I nipped in the loo pulled off the wig, replaced it with the cap & headband! I didn't want Terry scrambling across the car park attempting to rescue lovely wig!
Hello again Angela oh you do make me giggle π. You have trained me well! I have followed your advice re being around other people - e.g. we've booked a pub for valentines dinner but I've said only if we book for 4.30pm! The sanitizer gel now sits in each coat pocket, each bag and on the kitchen side. A good friend is going to bring me paper hand towels for the kitchen too to avoid using same towel all the time. l keep my gloves on when grocery shopping and when opening public doors! And thank you for the tip, a beanie is now in my hand bag and hopefully my new soft cotton one will be here by Friday.
Best wishes ππΉ
