Hi everyone, I have a brain paraclinoid aneurysm and I would like to go through endovascular surgery to repair it because it's causing me to lose my sight in one eye and I have strong headaches, photophobia and dizziness. I am scared of undergoing surgery with a doctor that is inexperienced or that butchered other patients before, so do you have any recommendations if you or someone you know had a successful brain surgery in the UK?

UK Brain Neurosurgeron recommendation?
Hi. I don't know anyone who has had brain surgery but from what I have read the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in Queens Square London is the 3rd best in the world. When it looked like I might need surgery .. I don't now or not for now anyway (cyst so nothing like as serious as yours) I spoke to a good GP who had done some of his training at NHNN and I asked him if it were him where would he go. He said NHNN, then Oxford JR, then Birmingham. I went to Oxford (Dr Cudlip) and he was great. We saw him privately to explain the MRI etc. Just going back to the NHNN they have an MRI that scans throughout the operation so they can see exactly what they are doing, less room for mistakes and no need to have an MRI after the op because you have had it done already. The GP said that my case wasn't interesting enough for the NHNN. Good luck with it.
