Hi, I had an abortion 6 years ago with a previous partner. We both agreed this was the best option for us.
I am now with a new partner and have been together for 4 years. We are talking about the possibility of having children, however I haven’t told him about my previous abortion. Will this be mentioned or brought up during any scans or appointments etc?

Hi, when I told my gp I was pregnant they asked if there was any previous pregnancies, miscarriages or abortions but this was over a telephone consultation. When I saw the midwife they saw me on my own before my husband came in to see if there’s anything I would like to talk about privately so you could discuss this then? Nothing was asked when I went for my 12 week scan. Unfortunately at this point I found out I was having a miscarriage so I can’t say past this. Hope this helps. Maybe you could talk to your current partner? Let me know how everything goes or if I can help further.
I'd agree with the PP that it's not so important whether or not you reveal it to your partner but if asked it's better to give full insight to the clinical team or more precisely your RE. There's no guarantee that it will not be brought up during failures or arguments. It's a very individual character of a person and the kind of thing they can bring into conflict. TBH you know the person so you're in a better position to judge the possibility that we do. However, one thing I can say is it's a personal choice whether you want to reveal it to your partner or not. Don't have a conscious hiding-complex over it.... its not at all hiding or neither really something unethical, You shouldn't and wouldn't be judged for it if you decide not to reveal it to your partner.
