could i be pregenant?

Ive been on the contraceptive pill Cerazette for the last 2 years and over that time I have not had any periods (been told this is very normal) unless I have missed a few pills which has probably happened 3 times in those 2 years. However last week I stated experiencing some strange symptoms which a regularly linked to pregnancy, eg. sore breasts, mood swings, feeling emotional, bloated, feeling unwell and just in general not feeling myself at all. So I took a Clear Blue digital text on Friday night which came up as Not Pregnant. However the symptoms have not gone away and I have started bleeding this morning (strange as I never have periods when ive not missed a pill). Is there a chance that i might be pregnant?

Hi there

As long as no more than 2 pills have been missed consecutively there is only a small risk you may be pregnant. A pregnancy test is only accurate 21 days after last unprotected sex, so may be a better idea to do a repeat test at a contraceptive clinic so the nurses can work out the risk of missed pills. STI’s can sometimes cause break through bleeding so it might be a good idea to get that checked as well.
