Hi, I am on the mini pill called cerelle, and it has stopped my periods completely for 6 months.. How do i know if i am pregnant? I am extremely bloated and have a stomach ache at the moment with slight pain in my back, is this anything to do with pregnancy or not having periods? please help

Hi there,

Cerelle does make some women stop bleeding which is quite normal, and doesn’t cause any issues physically. If you took all your pills regularly and all on time according to pack instructions (so within 12 hours) and not missed any, not had a sickness bug or had any medication that interferes with the pill, then it is unlikely that you would be pregnant. If your last episode of sex was more than 3 weeks ago then a pregnancy test would now be accurate. I think the best thing to do might be to go and talk to a contraceptive clinic nurse - they could take the test with you, talk you through your symptoms, and they then may try a different progestogen-only pill that could suit you better.
