Can I Be Pregnant?

I had unprotected sex on the 20th & 21st and I was supposed to ovulate yesterday the 26th , can I get pregnant? Help.

Hi Lily,

Yes, you can conceive throughout your cycle so it is possible that you could have fallen pregnant from the episodes of unprotected sex on 20th and 21st. You will have to wait a little while to find out. The best thing to do would be to wait and take a preganancy test if you period is late or lighter or shorter than normal. If this is negative but your period hasn't arrived after 4 days, you should retest. If this is negative but your period is still late it might be best if you went to speak to you GP or /local contraceptive or sexual health clinic as they can go over your dates with you and check if there is anything else which might be affecting your cycle. If the test is positive, you can speak to your GP about your options.

Thank you Katherine.. I beed a little yesterday morning but it wasn't like my normal period and it only lasted like some minutes.. Why did I bleed and can I still get pregnant after that?

Spotting can be due to a number of causes and some women do experience a bit of bleeding after implantation, so it isn't necessarily a sign that you are not pregnant. I know it must be frustrating but the only way you will know for sure either way is when you take a pregnancy test if you period is late.
