Hi there,
Condoms are a good method of contraception when used correctly. Given that you used contraception and your girlfriend has had her period since you had sex, it is unlikely that she is pregnant, but if she is very nervous about it she could take a test just to put her mind at ease.
If your partner would prefer a more reliable method of contraception than condoms, there are lots of different options available for free from your GP or local family planning clinic, including so-called "fit-and-forget" methods that you don't have to remember to use every day / every time you have sex.
