Help, I'm confused with trying to conceive.

My boyfriend and I have been having unprotected sex for 3 weeks almost now since my last period, today is the day before my next calculated period (tmrw) I took an early detection pregnancy test in hopes of a positive result as we are trying, and got a negative, I'm loosingl hope this time around, I need some advice I cannot afford to go to the Dr just yet to see what's wrong . Help?

Hi there,

I understand you are anxious to fall pregnant but it can take a little while longer than we might sometimes hope, and there is no need to panic after trying for just one cycle. The NHS advises waiting until you have been trying to conceive for one year before seeking medical advice, or sooner if you are over 35 or have had problems in the past such as an ectopic pregnancy, so you most probably don't need to worry about going to see a doctor just yet. The best thing to do is carry on as you are and try to relax a bit if possible.

There is more information about improving your chances of conceiving on the NHS website below, but the most important thing to remember is that just because you haven't conceived in the first month of trying it doesn't necessarily mean anything is wrong - it just can sometimes take a bit longer than that.
