Contaceptive injection

Ive only had one contraceptive injection, I was told after a while of having the iniection once I came off I wouldnt be fertile straight away, im wondering if when this injections finished its 12 week period Whether ill be fertile straight away since ive only have ine injection?

Hi there,

Fertility can sometimes be delayed after being on the Depo injection, but usually this is after being on this for 1-2 years . However, even after being on Depo for a very long time you couldn’t be absolutely sure you wouldn’t get pregnant straight away. After having only one injection it is very unlikely that your fertility would be affected, so if you don’t want to get pregnant, you should use another method of contraception immediately after stopping the injections.
