Getting Pregnant after an ectopic pregnancy

I did have an ectopic pregnancy in February 2014 I was 7weeks.my right tube was removed I am left with my left tube and my 2 ovaries. The doctors don't really know the causes of my ectopic.my periods are now irregular. I would like to know what are my chances of getting pregnant again and what are my chances of having another ectopic pregnancy. I am now scared of trying for a baby. This was my first ectopic. I have a 5 year old boy born by Emergency C-Section in 2009.

I'm so sorry to hear about your ectopic pregnancy - your feelings are completely understandable. Many women who have experienced an ectopic pregnancy feel anxious about conceiving again.

Your chances of falling pregnant again will depend on the underlying health of your Fallopian tube and it might be worth speaking to your GP about this, as they may be able to give you a clearer picture or refer you to a specialist. The average chance of having a repeat ectopic pregnancy is low at around 10%, but again for each individual it will depend on the health of their tubes, and this is something you can also raise with your GP.
